  1. NDT2 are at Sadlers Wells Theatre - the three pieces at the rehearsal were "Schubert", "Sad Case" and "Some other Time". Here are some pictures including the now highly popular black on black with low lighting.

  2. A part of Rambert's Murder, Mystery and Party dance works, A Linha Curva is a highly exciting and energetic piece by Itzik Galili. Lighting you might call creative but to photograph, a challenge. Some members of the Rambert Ballet School joined the company in the ensemble parts. The four percussionist (on stage) that accompany the dance were exceptional. On till Saturday at Sadlers Wells.

  3. The Cloud Gate Theatre of Taiwan return to the Sadlers WellsTheatre with tons of brown rice, sadly we were only shown the one extract as there are technical difficulties with the rice circle which requires some time to prepare. What we saw was elegant and moving. Until the 7th May.

  4. We took our 9 and 7 year old grandchildren to the Saturday matinee and they were very excited. The seven year old GD preferred the second act as Cedric (Little Lord Fauntleroy) was so kind and generous to so many children. Little Luke Wragg was excellent as was Lily O'Regan who sadly missed out on the lead of last years production of Snow White due to an injury. Well done to all the cast.

  5. This year's presentation from London Children's Ballet is based on one of Frances Hodgson Burnett 's trilogy - Little Lord Fauntleroy. Four performances from Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th April at the Peacock Theatre. If you have little children or grandchildren or nieces and nephews it is a great way to introduce them to dance in a fun way. The children are a delight and joy to watch. Try to get there.

  6. The National Youth Dance Company open tonight at Sadlers Wells Theatre in Michael Keegan-Dolan's In-Nocentes. 40 talented young people that give their all in a non stop performance to Max Richter's re-composition of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, performed on stage by the Southbank Sinfonia, with a special mention of their violinist leader. Watch out for them at seven venues in June and July. Here are some pictures from last night's rehearsal.

  7. I was also at the Barbican to see this wonderful group of dancers. Those who have missed it may be able to get to Ipswich in May or Newbury, Oxford, The Lowry and Nottingham in June

  8. Also at the bare stage Sadlers Wells, interesting that after a few minutes one was not aware at the lack of scenery and tried hard to follow the story. Although captions were projected it was not easy to read them and take pictures at the same time, here are a some more pictures from the rehearsal.

  9. I was at the marathon Gala rehearsal, sadly very few were in costume and make up. That apart it was fantastic to see these wonderful artists performing in the Coliseum. Here are some pictures from the rehearsal.

  10. It was a very pleasant occasion and a great opportunity to see the people involved in the Ballets - Dancers, Choreographers and Artistic Directors. Many thanks to Graham Watts and the members of the Critics' Circle Dance Section for carrying on this worthwhile tradition enjoyed by all present, nominees as well as the winners.

  11. A slightly disappointing evening as we were only allowed to photograph two sections from the programme. It would have been great to photograph Zenaida Yanowski in her three pieces and other parts of the programme. The cast was fully costumed. So here are a couple of pictures from my set.

  12. Matthew Bourne's Gothic version of Sleeping Beauty is back at the Sadlers Wells Theatre for the Christmas season. We were treated to a couple of extracts with two different casts. The Rose Adage from Act 2 and Aurora's Arrival from Act 4. Here are some pictures with both casts.
