Normally for boarding, arrivals are around 6-8pm on the Sunday evening (but they have to eat before or bring a picnic as the canteen is closed on Sunday night), or they can join on Monday morning at 10am, but they have to go almost immediately to the classes. Lessons are 9.30-5.30pm Monday-Saturday (11am on first Monday). In non COVID times there was also a small show on the final Saturday (and both Saturdays for the levels having 1 week options). This was at 11.30 for up to intermediate  level, and 2-4pm for the older classes.  On Sunday they normally arrange an optional outing such as visiting the Paris Opera building and Eiffel Tower (some do go with their families on Sunday, and some of the older ones arrange their own thing). In the evenings they also did arrange a few things. You do need to bring bedsheets, pillows and covers and it is not possible to rent them from the school. You can buy at the large shopping mall in La Defense if necessary, but it is normally fairly warm in July, so duvets not needed.

Uniform in prior years was girls was a pink leotard for junior, elementary and intermediate levels, and black for Average, Advanced and superior). Character shoes are also needed for intermediate, average and advanced levels.  It's normally 3 sharing a room, and each room has a bathroom.  The meals in the canteen have a few options. Those not boarding still take lunch at the canteen.  My daughters really liked the boarding and made good friends. If you can get boarding its worth taking, the only exception is if your child has a special diet (certain allergies). I recall In 2019 the info packs were sent already in March and last year it was in early June.

@ActiveswiThank you so much for all the information. This is so helpful! My daughter will choose the boarding option. 😊

  2. Hi! I’m still deciding if we should go with the boarding option or not. Does anyone have any information about boarding (moving in/out dates, schedules, meals , activities, etc. )? I emailed POB but they only sent me an email to pay for first instalment and that they have a space available It would be helpful to know more details. Thank you 🙏🏻

    Hi.

I am new to this forum. My daughter has been offered a place for two weeks in level Elémentaire 2. She will be boarding also. We are from England.

Does anyone know when we will receive info regarding uniform etc?

    Thanks.

Congratulations to your daughter. I emailed the school last week to see if boarding is still available. I haven’t heard anything back.

When my daughter attended Paris YAGP we stayed in a fabulous Airbnb within walking distance of the Paris Opera Ballet School. There were lots to choose from. Just a suggestion 😁
The first time we went we stayed at the Mecure Hotel opposite the school. It was nice but quite expensive. The Airbnb was far cheaper x

Thank you so much for the information. I will check it out.😀

My 11 year will be going but she is going for the second week  in the Elementaire 1 level.  We also chose the non-boarding option so I need to figure out where we will stay!

My 12yo daughter will be attending the same level/week. She is so excited!! Maybe my daughter can meet up with your daughter before the program. We are thinking to choose the non-boarding as well. Did you book the hotel yet?

There may be one or two offered early next week, given the deadline for acceptance is today, but not many people would go through the whole rigmarole of taking photos etc. and expense and then turn down their place. If travel restrictions aren’t eased by the summer, more places will open up then as the foreign students who’ve been offered places won’t be able to come.

I was thinking if things get better with covid, more places will be open up for non residential too. Good luck to everyone on the waiting list 🤞

Hi everyone, I accepted the offer last Thursday with the second email link they said, but just got an email again asking to make sure we accept by the 26th . SO I accepted again, and requested the code again. Anyone else, got a further email?

    Happy Monday!

I got the second email too!

  8. Waiting list for my daughter. Sad she had a place last summer and it got canceled. But I’m glad we finally got the results and so we can move on lol. She is looking forward to training at SAB and Miami City Ballet this Summer. Hopefully those will happen in person. 🤞

Congratulations to all the yeses and good luck to everyone on waiting list 😊

  9. My 11 yo daughter had a place for last summer and on waiting list for this spring. I wonder if they will offer any places for international students with all the travel restrictions going on. Hopefully results will be sent soon. The waiting game is not fun for the parents 😅. good luck everyone!
