It is one of the best ballet schools in Europe/the whole world. Dancers are regularly in Prix de Lausanne and many graduates find good jobs.  So of course it is highly selective and very difficult to get into. Good luck.

Yes he's very aware of that as he already attends vocational ballet school. Thank you !

Having been through all associates before and full time school prelims and finals I don't think you can at all make heads nor tails of it all. The only thing over thinking it does sleepless nights and stress.

Every school is different and every year is different.

My advice, take it all in your stride and don't get disheartened if it's a 'no'. It doesn't mean no forever, just a no this time round.

    Xxx

totally agree, dont read ANYTHING into your views etc. Wait and see what happens, when my DS was auditioning for full-time school he only had one view on all three of his videos, got finals and a place offered for each! You really cant decode it xx

DD lucky enough to have two weeks at the RBS summer Intensive this year. One of the questions is whether you want them to be ‘observed’ for full-time education. It then goes on to say this doesn’t replace an audition class but gives no further info (and I got the same answer when I asked directly). Could anyone shed any light on how this works (we hadn’t previously applied via video as financial situation was different). Thank you

From what I know, the artistic team will observe your child. I have known some children offered a school place

     from this.

Hi all sorry for silence we were waiting till 100% confirmed. So proud of DS he got a scholarship for year 7 performance foundation course with boarding!  Taken a while to agree as bursary was not as much as we had hoped - I think there is a real struggle this year with covid paying a huge part in not as much funding.  So we have taken decision to do what ever it takes to make it work for him, it’s a huge financial commitment but we know he is worth it.  I hope all those on wait lists hear soon. X

    Amazing!!

Yes!!!!!!!! Well Done to your ds!! I am delighted with the new structure of guaranteed 3 years ... though could potentially get rid of a whole year group at the end of year 9 but I’m it going to start stressing over that now 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yes please for a WhatsApp group ☝️

Count me in on the WhatsApp group. We can navigate it all together xx

The two times my son did finals, his dance teacher emailed for feedback and it was given without issue by Mark Annear.

Of the other students and friends my son knows who have asked for feedback it has always been given without any problem by RBS.

I would always ask for feedback, this for me is about gently nudging vocational training schools to be more transparent and I believe that asking and receiving feedback is part of that process.

We as a part of the audition pathway always ask for feedback. I would then raise questions when it is not given.

Hopefully the more parents and teachers that ask, the more feedback becomes as standard.

That’s brilliant you did. I have to say you are the first person I know to have got it. Friends have asked in the past only to be met with we don’t give it.
