We never got one but I did speak to one of the senior staff and said we probably need to put the idea of the Hammond to bed with no funding so they have probably taken that as a no!!

I would expect they would still expect you to formally decline the place given that we’ve all paid a registration fee. That’s why I would have thought everyone would have received a welcome letter at the same time.

Yes we had welcome letters and also desperately trying to source some funding so that dd can take up her place. I haven't completed any forms yet though xx

Hmmm - wonder why we’ve not received anything? Have sent another email - they are going to put me on the ‘you’re being annoying’ naughty step soon. In fact, I think I’m already on it!

  3. Has anyone else had welcome letters? I am failing to get a response or a line of communication going. We are currently looking at options to fund this opportunity, which you will appreciate is a huge commitment. At the moment we feel so far down their list. It’s incredibly discouraging.

No fee remission for us unfortunately so unless I have a lottery win looks like no year 10 start at Hammond for my dd. One very upset young lady as last opportunity until upper school 😥

Good luck to anyone still waiting and thank you to all on this forum for your support throughout this process xx

So sorry - was really hoping for better news for you.  Especially as you have waited so long. This is not the end - keep on keeping on. Good luck with the journey.  x

Have you had emails? Not had anything yet but doesn't sound like they are giving much fee remission out.

Yep -  email landed with us this evening! No news yet is worth keeping fingers crossed for! Let us know when you get news. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Yes, it is different. Previously with Dd1 you were asked to call. They gave feedback and told you where you were on reserve list. I completed in depth financial forms and then had a letter offering 50%. We were still on reserve for MDS too. This was  3 years ago though.

Did you complete the forms after you learnt where you were on the reserve list? It would seem ideal to do it that way although the letter suggests completing the forms first? Have I read that wrong? I still haven't had an email yet. I'm now questioning if we've dropped off the list altogether!!

All I can think is that in this financial situation, maybe they are holding back funds to help existing parents if jobs are lost, wages decreased and extra assistance needed etc. I know this is similar in the school I work for. It does not really help, but it could be a reason for the change in bursary allocation.

That’s what I considered too.  I think they probably have existing pupils who will need additional financial support at this time and they (retention of existing children) will understandably be priority over new intake. Not received our email yet.

Has anyone heard anything or had any correspondence since the initial reserve list emails? I appreciate they will be busy sorting things for existing pupils but would really like to know what next steps are

I’ve not received any correspondence  yet.

  9. Hello Hammond Hopefuls! Meet you back here tomorrow! March and April 2020 are officially proving to be the longest months ever! It’s my son’s birthday early next week. Would be lovely to have some positive news. But, even if we have no mds funding, it’s been positive to get this far. Health and happiness and best of luck to everyone.

Wonder if we see any movement this week or whether everyone has accepted their MDS. Hope everyone is staying safe xx

Not heard a sausage this end. The 17th is on Friday - but then it's the weekend and I am wondering if we really won't hear until next week. Have you messaged them at all?

  11. Hmmmm - I have the impression that the reserve list is mostly year 7 top heavy. I can totally understand that as they do say MDS mostly available for the year 7 starters.

Unfortunately I am getting realistic about not seeing a space come available in year 9. Still, fingers remain crossed and we'll see what happens after the 17th. In the meantime - do post if you receive good news. It's always good to hear dreams coming true. Stay safe x

Yes all boys on that day looks like reserved list as my lad knew the other two lads and they are reserves too, fingers crossed though I suppose we won’t get any more info till after the 17th April as tring and Elmhurst auditions were this week for lower school, so depending on them and who has been given a place at RBS so hopefully there will be some movement over the next few weeks

I haven't checked this feed for a couple of days and it looks like the reserve list is going down! Any news from the boys from that last audition @WrapsnBows? Woke up at 3am worrying about it - and there's plenty to be worrying about at the moment as it is! Wishing you all the best. And @Milzmam and everyone else waiting! Congratulations @CaleaLooking forward to hearing more good news stories. Stay safe x
