Nothing here either, and I thought we were all supposed to hear by tomorrow, April 13. Our video hasn’t been viewed either. So I’m guessing they are going to be late with answers. Ugh, and we are juggling other offers, but really hoping for positive outcome here. My poor daughter is on pins and needles, and literally just emailed me from school asking if I had a response yet.
Oh bless her. Yes. We’re juggling too. Thankfully my DD doesn’t mind but I want to know and finalise!! Fingers crossed for you

Anybody else heard? We applied on the last day so expected a bit of a wait. We’ve had confirmation of receipt but the video hasn’t been viewed yet.

It just says waiting list. I know for Associate places they call it a “short waiting list” and I think it genuinely is small. But for intensives, I think it’s just a ranked waiting list. And I don’t know anyone who doesn’t get on the waiting list (unless they get a place!) which means it must be huge
-
Haha. Now I’m analysing the 2 responses. Last year I had “at this time due to the very high volume of applications”. This year I just have “at this time.” I hint of where we are in the waitlist. Or just different wording this year 🤔
anyone got different wording 😂😂😂

Has RBS sent out invitations to anyone on the waitlist yet?
That’s what I wanted to know. I can’t find anyone who has had one from the waitlist yet. But refusals were in AGES ago.
Last year we came off wait list on 26 April in the first round of second offers. We got told we were on the wait list on 27 Feb. So maybe this is normal now I look at it logically. Just difficult for planning!

Nothing…other than the email about the fraudulent emails being sent to potential students—but didn’t directly target RBS. Anyone else get that one?
Yes. 4 times. 2 daughters. Three different avenues 😂

Any news of anyone off the waitlist? I know many who’ve declined so want to know if the first round of next refusals are in. If they are, we’ll quit waiting and book in something else
-
I think there will be at least 1 in London who declines their place for next year. She’s going to Elmhurst. Don’t think that was known before the emails went out.

We’ve had to decline our DC’s offer of a two week place so there should be some movement on the waitlist soon. 🤞
Thank you! What was your deadline to decline?

I’ve managed to pick up ENB tickets on the day from their website twice last week. Think they released about 10am

Do you know who the others are?

As @Neverdancedjustamum suggested, I was interested in progression from lower school at the end of Y11 rather than graduating after Y13. It’s a hard decision to send your child to any school. Academic or vocational. With academic, you can judge the results of the teaching at the end of 5 years by the exam results. You have to aim off for the intake, the fact some will decide they don’t want to study or don’t live up to potential or get mixed up with the wrong crowd. But you can judge, at least to an extent, the quality of teaching and whether the institution might get the best from the child and help them get to the university of choice or course. But with the vocational schools, it’s hard to know if there is a reasonable chance of a place at a classical Upper School after Y11 and therefore whether it’s worth the investment in time, money, and emotions to take the path with that school. If they rarely turn out dancers who go in to a classical ballet education, and that’s what DC wants, it would be helpful to know in the making of the decision. It’s such a shame it’s all so shrouded in mystery. It might help everyone if it wasn’t. Transparency is rarely a bad thing.
Thank you for all the info so far. It is really helpful. Welcome any more views from anyone with insight. Do DM if easier than using the public thread.
Thank you!

This year’s students won’t have all their responses yet, and are still under huge pressure, so hopefully you are referring to previous year groups.
No offence meant. I’m too early in all this to know timings and knew Elmhurst and RBS US had come out. I can only imagine the stress they are all under. Best of luck to everyone.

I’m interested to know if anyone knows, or can point me to where to find out, the Upper School destinations of these schools’ students, this year and maybe for the past few years? I know White Lodge has been discussed on the forum for RBS Upper School but haven’t seen where they do go, and am at a loss on where to start on the others. Apologies if there’s a thread I’ve missed.
thanks!

And good news on YR 8?

We were at audition on Tuesday. They said up to 6 working days. Suspect all the results will come together but not actually told as much.

Thank you @MissEmily That’s really helpful

Slightly off topic. But does anyone know how many weekends the children are allowed to go home if they go to Elmhurst?

I have a theory….. we are also waitlisted. And our video hasn’t been viewed. I think they’ve waitlisted everyone they haven’t got to yet because they promised an answer by April 13th. And this gives them another month 😂
