HowMuch!

Difficult week here, reserves again. We’re not quite sure which direction to go in, but I’m suspecting it might be the end of the vocational route for us. There is a not-so-little bit of me who’ll be quite relieved to simplify things and return to simple Saturdays, and perhaps the return of some cash in the bank! There’s still the reserve list glimmer of hope, but I remain unconvinced that there will be much movement. Well done to all those children who gained places, it sounds like it was a very tough year so they’re well-deserved indeed!!!!!

I imagine they’ll be using more than one studio so start times might stagger and auditions overlap? In the email it said not to arrive early which makes me think they’ll be letting groups in every 15mins or so? In previous years they had different age groups in different studios at the same time. From memory when DD auditioned as a JA, there was one level 1 group of 30 for the CAT recall and 2/3 groups for the associates. I think? I have no idea for the older ones, DD is now IF associate and who knows what CAT level? I’m not feeling particularly confident of her chances, I’m pretty sure the spots available for IF associates will be very few and even less so for CAT if she’s not a level 1. But, it’ll be a fun day out for her so I’ll hold on to that!

We had our email through today with audition details. I was wondering how big the groups might be?

I wouldn’t have thought so. I know of children in previous years who’ve not been recalled, or who had recalls for CAT and not associates etc. I think that this year, the effort of filming might have put people off which might skew the applicant standard perhaps? Another couple of things to keep in mind, is that there is often a unrepresentative number of yeses on this forum and that those with nos might not put it on social media etc.

Me too! It’s probably a good thing, it’ll rest our anxious minds in time for the wait pre and post finals (if we get there!).

I wouldn’t read too much into how much has been viewed. I try to keep in mind that at an in-person audition they see 20-30 children all at the same time and can make decisions. They might spot what they’re looking for after a few minutes - especially for the youngest children.

I think that means they’ll start sending them out. Eeek!!!! Let the constant email refreshing begin!

I think it’s all very different this year. Last year the finals were on the same day for JA and level 1 CAT with older CAT joining existing classes. I think the recall emails will come in stages though, I hope!

Same here, I’m clueless when it comes to dance! This forum has been a sanity-saver! We’re quite close to Leeds so it’s a great option.

Just Northern for us, inter foundation associates and CAT. We considered schools but she’s not boarding material yet, CAT would be the perfect opportunity.

Did your DC apply for the junior associates? I think I recall @CRHsaying their DC applied for senior associates? I’m probably clutching at straws but I imagine they’d need to scrutinise a senior applicant in more detail? I haven’t looked at viewings on mine, I’m too scared I’ll accidentally delete it or something daft! But I wouldn’t think the number of viewings means anything - I’m pretty sure I read on the WL thread that sone videos were watched very briefly and got through to finals! Good luck everyone! I’m sure we’ll be relieved of this horrid waiting soon! And then hopefully thrown straight back into it for finals!!!!! 🤞🤞🤞

Fingers crossed! I wonder if a certain number of people need to view each one? I’m not sure how many are in the panel, but they can’t all watch it at the same time? Plus with CAT I guess they’re deciding on levels too? I’m feeling a little more patient after thinking about that! I think we’ll hear sometime next week - she says whilst obsessively refreshing her emails!!!! 😂
