This is so wonderful to hear. It makes me very excited for DDs future at Moorlands. It’s only a few short months away now until she starts and such a positive post has helped when thinking about my little DD leaving home so soon.
I was really hoping to take DD to watch it but couldn’t manage it logistically (not sure it was open to non parents etc..)

Oh my goodness. The newbies thread brings back memories. It was started when DD got a place in year 4 and now she’s only got 2 classes left after 3 fabulous years!!!! Time flies. It’s been an amazing experience!
Congratulations to all the yeses and keep going for those that got a not yet. Others have proved that it doesn’t mean there’s no future chance. X

Just had the email, it's a no for us! My DD is only 8, so plenty more opportunities to audition.
I am guessing unless it acutally says waiting list, then there is no chance of her getting bumped up?
So sorry for your news. Unfortunately the email would state that she is on the waiting list so time to focus on trying again next year. And always well worth trying again.
Hope your DD isn’t too upset. X

Oh no. So sorry. Isn’t your daughter already an associate? I thought I remembered you from last year. X

Does anyone have any last minute tips for the audition? My daughter is up next week. She’s confident, but I am less so.
Just enjoy. Show the panel how much she loves to dance. They do an improvisation in the audition. I think DD had to pretend to be either waves or a tree. She had to stay in her knees and dance with her arms so all about listening to the music.
Enjoy every minute if of it. Good luck x

Do we think the week commencing the 5th of June will be too soon for results to start coming out? Xx
In 2019 results started coming out about 11th June I think. Our Leeds results were 18th June but the audition was a bit earlier. 17th May in Leeds I think.
Good luck x

That’s very kind of you.
Did your DC get another offer from a different school?
She did yes. We’ve accepted her place at Moorlands.
Is your DC waiting for Hammond? Good luck if so.

Hello
I’ve just emailed to hand our MDS back this morning so I’m keeping my fingers crossed someone from here will get an offer.

My daughter has just been offered a place off the waitlist for Mid Associates Year 7 London. A thrilled daughter! So yes, someone has benefited and truly grateful! 🥰
Congratulations you your daughter. 🎉🎉🎉

DD has also been offered a year 7 place off the waitlist today for Manchester.
I nearly didn’t answer the phone call. DD was in the car and we had a little squeal of delight after the call.

I have a pupil in current year 8 . If you can’t find a year 7 - I can put you in touch . She’s a lovely girl and at least it would be a familiar face .
Thank you. That’s really kind.
I’m hoping there will be more new starters so it’s not too daunting for DD for September but I know they only have small year groups.

I would have posted this on the actual Moorland thread but that one’s very quiet!
Are there any other year 7s for Moorlands this year? Trying to find a friend for DD 😁

Hi,
probably best to have a look at the website as it has all the measurements on there but it was brought for my teen who is 5ft6 x
Ok thank you. My DD is only 11 and less than 5ft so think we’ll want smaller.

Help!
My DD is going away to vocational school in September (Y7). She’s been dreaming of this for so long and is excited….. but she is also really teary about leaving us and her friends and her whole life changing. It’s getting so close now and we’re not really talking about it much (which I’m not pushing) as she just gets upset each time.
We are going to have to think about packing soon and I’m dreading it as it’s clearly going to be hard for her to do rather than exciting.
I’ve told DD that this is perfectly normal and if I had any doubt whether we were doing the right thing I’d say so… but I really need someone to tell me this is all normal as it feels like I’m making her sad with the things we need to get organised 😢
