Hi all, DD isn't signed up for any summer schools this year and she wanted to do some drop in classes/master classes instead. Though I can't find any that will suit her and are easyish to get to. She is on waiting list for Central's Day of dance but except for that has nothing else planned. She is Grade 4/5 ballet ISTD and Surrey/London area would be preferable.

Does anyone know of any classes we could apply for??

DD uses a ballet stretching app which is Master Ballet Academy in USA called BalletElasticity. It's helped her lots although you do have to have a certain amount of flexibility to do some of the exercises but I'd say it's definitely worth a try. Hope this helps!

Wow! just peered round DDs shoulder to see she was watching Vale Dance's group ballet from Copellia (excuse my lack of ballet terms????). Looks like a wonderful school from the 2-3 minutes I saw of it!

DD knows a few people who have received Commendation Awards at Janet Crams throughout the years and I was wondering if anyone knew how many people got awarded one and what it is for?

dd's teacher always say rolling through your feet with a theraband is for DDs age (12) to help strengthen for pointe work

Hi all I know we have missed the deadline for this year for RBS MA but if we wanted next year(DD is turning 13 in May) would she be able to audition. I know the ages are 11-13 however I've seen a few people who are MA and are 14. Is it based on school years instead of ages so year 7- year 9??

Edited to add do they do pointe work in MA?

Is this the same summer course as the Surrey ballet masters summer school?????

Hi all DD has requested private ballet lessons as a part of her birthday presents this year - though not till May. Her teacher isn't too keen on giving her private lessons and we don't want to ask again and risk making her feel as though we think she isn't doing enough (if that makes sense) Despite this DD is still really keen to have a few lessons one to one so we are looking into having some with a seperate teacher, we will of course inform her teacher about this and make sure she is comfortable about it. However, we aren't really sure who would be best for them. DD is 12 turning 13 and is Grade 4 and 5 ballet ISTD. Does anyone know any teacher that they could recommend for DD?? Thanks in advance

DD was very happy to come across their YouTube yesterday and find nearly all the full length ballets. She was just running out of things to watch whilst stretching so these will last a while????

Anyone know how much the day of dance at central is for 11-13 year olds??

Not too important but DD and I just saw a picture on Instagram of a dance school we just came across which said that they had students of theirs performing with Vienna Festival Ballet. Does anyone know if/how DC can get into this and if they need to audition or if the dance school get contacted.

Sorry if that made no sense we are just currently looking for dance opportunities for DD who is 12.

Sorry for all the questions but for the classes aimed at under 16s, for Classical Ballet which class would the average grade 4 and 5 dancer be working at?

My dd is almost 12 and working at RAD grade 5, and intermediate foundation and intermediate, I would not take her to a class at Pineapple for general/advanced or even intermediate as is way beyond her. She did elementary and that was ok but she watched the other classes and there's no way it was appropriate. Its the maturity and pace apart from anything else. I can't comment on Danceworks but if it's similar to pineapple then that our recent experience

Could I just ask, DD is grade 4,5&6 ISTD, would she be okay in Emma Northmores General/advanced level for over 11s?? Or am I aiming to high?

balletmum20 are you sure the oldest was fifteen as on the website and DDs teacher told us that the age limit for Grade 4 was under 13
