  1. My dd loved it as well. She said she was a sailor in one of the dances. She said they were put in 3 groups at the end so I guess we will know in a week if its the yes, reserve or no group! (She thought her group was the smallest so we are guessing reserve.)

Oh no you're joking? The only hotel I could get was about a 30 min tube ride away!

Have you checked out the tube on Transport for London site? It depends on what direction you are coming from. I'm sure you will be fine x

Yes my little one is excited but I'm as nervous as anything!  We are borrowing a national skirt from her dance teacher just in case.

when are you travelling down? We are goin Saturday evening and staying over in a travel lodge.

We are staying over night at Premier Inn Angel Islington. 20 min walk to Central ballet School or a taxi ride I think. Looks like the tubes are partly closed Sunday morning in that area from what I can make out. x

  4. Ms sunshine, am I right in thinking your DD got into Hammond associates as well? Is she year 5.? X

Hi. She is a very petit year 4 girl and yes she is starting Hammond as a associate in September. I am very happy if she can stay residential. She would love every minute. Last year she did one week OPES summer school and was wanting to stay residential but I said no as I thought she was too young. x
  5. My dd is 9 and loved the whole experience(so did I actually!) It was the first time we have been to a dance convention so it was a great eye opener. I had no idea the classes would give opportunities beyond that day. Some of the dancers were quite emotional after with good or bad feed back. I guess this is why starting my dd off young at this sort of thing will help with future auditions and highs and lows. We will go again!

  6. My 9 year old DD is going. I think being with new people and a new place can worry them but hopefully they will relax and enjoy it. We are going 1.30-2.15pm audition. Is everyone the same time? It did make me giggle that they need to bring a towel. I'm not sure she will need one but its nice to make the effort :)

  7. My dd is starting the YDA associates in September. I think when given these opportunities we have to try. Listen to peoples opinions (which are all different) but I think you have to decide what is best for your girl x

  8. My dd is 8 and doing week 1 but not staying residential this time.(She would like but I have said not yet). I am staying in Retford with my son for the week so will bus her each day I hope. Its her first Dance Summer School. She has done the Tring dance days and Musical Theatre workshop weeks before. She is also starting Young Dancers Academy (YDA) in September on Saturday mornings. Really happy for her. x

  9. Morning everyone :) It will be a wait until Monday now for any more results I guess. I have not told my dd results are coming out earlier than expected. We are waiting for Eastleigh. She got a 'try again' letter for CBA so thinking it will be a no for JA's. Fingers crossed for everyone :)

From what I could make out the CBA at Tring had 5 groups of 22 of various ages through out the day to audition. No idea for how many places. At the Royal ballet Eastleigh audition the same numbers. About 120 kids at that one centre. I was told but not sure how true it is that of the youngest group of 22 they were ruffly after 2 of the 8 boys and 2 of the 14 girls. I did not see many boys at CBA but I was not looking around that much x

  11. My daughter was in the first group and is quite bendy so was warming up in all sorts of positions. She just loves it all and I would never ask her to do anything even at the age of 8 she just gets on with it until I say no more! She did the Royal ballet ja audition on the Friday. Its was interesting to here that she found the CBA harder but loved it just as much. She was over the moon a girl she was paired up with on the Friday was also in the CBA group Sunday. Not that we will, but if we got offered both I'm not sure I could decide which to go for for her. x
