Hi. Just wanted to say dont worry if you dont get in ja's. The game is not over. My dd was a no for year 4, 5 and 6 plus the easter/summer schools. No wait lists. We worked really hard. She ended up at White Lodge finals with another 52 girls. She was then in recall on the 2nd day. She did not get a place but she did get mds offers at the other 3 schools and is off to one in September!

I think 5 of the year 6 Elmhurst Young Dancers in Birmingham have gained a place full time in September. I also know of a few in other centres. Quite good I think!

We delined our swl place for London as my dd off to Elmhurst 😁

No reflection on you Amos but please can people remember there are not different levels of MDS awards.... you either are awarded one or not & from there it is a means tested amount.... the higher the household income, the more a family contribute towards training costs, the lower the household income, the less a family pay as more or all of the fees will be covered by the government. It is in effect like a social benefit. An award of an MDS is a reward for talent but remember some do not qualify to apply (not long enough residency in UK even if a UK citizen ie. located abroad for work, location such as Jersey - I think! - or fact that a family may have other benefits such as being military may actually cover significant amounts of fees already) or no need to apply. It in no way makes these DC’s without MDS inferior or less talented. I know the journey is so traumatic with places so fought for & funding even more so that we want to feel every moment of success but actually it should end with the achievement of getting offers of places... funding should be a very private affair relating to family finances.
We are Channel Islands and been offered mds. Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney etc seem to be OK for mds. Dada might be a problem at 16 but I think that is all going to change slightly with brexit.

Congratulations Ms Sunshine .
My pupil also has MDS for Hammond year 7 !! Same boat as you , in that we are waiting on Tring and Elmhurst !!
I thought Tring would be quicker than this but there are so few MDS there , we are not optimistic for that one , even though she did get a physio check .
Which school is your daughter’s first choice ?
They may end up together - and they probably know each other from the ‘ circuit ‘ !
All the best for your other results anyway .

I know it funny as we were physio at Tring as well. Recall at white lodge. My friends dd also on Tring physio asked them yesterday about results. 2-3 weeks by post was the answer. We will get Elmhurst before that! Tring has always been the top of our list. But I think my dd might want Elmhurst more. Im just happy she has Hammond. Can any schools allow ma for year 7 as well? Xx

(Sorry I posted in the questions part and not sure how to delete!) My dd has an mds offer at Hammond year 7. We are delighted although I cried at the thought of her leaving me. We are waiting on Tring and Elmhurst results before we decide 100% but she is very happy.

The original report was in November, the Notice in the link above was at the beginning of December and states an action plan must be submitted by Tring by 7th January. The announcement of Miss Rist's departure was a month later and made public on 8th February. This would seem to be a logical chain of events allowing time for scrutiny of the documents and meetings to be held to decide what to do.
Does anyone who auditioned this year remember who welcomed the parents and was generally in charge?
My dd auditioned Friday 11th January and the Head of dance was not at the welcome or in the audition class.

My dd has a yes to finals for entry to White Lodge year 7. Quite shocked as she has always had no's to JA's for year 4,5 and 6! No wait lists. Plus no summer or easter school offers. In fact I was not thrilled about her wanting to go but as she proved you have to be in it to win it!

So when do we think these Tring letters will Arrive?

They did say they are seeing all the children auditioning for the musical theatre next week. Some were going for the dance and musical theatre courses so they were going to see everyone then start making decisions.

No offence to royal as they are an amazing company but 90% at a guess of ja's dont make White Lodge finals. They take who they like!
