Me too happymum:) I know you can't change anything by being nervous and stressed but I can't help it !! First time for us too. Plus I need to beat my dd to the letter so I can break the news gently if it's bad news

There is a dancer at my dd dance school who after years of trying to get in associate classes got in at white lodge last September she is 14 now I think . I think If my dd wants to keep trying I will support her all the way. She is only 8 now so who knows what will happen but I will be there for her if it is not what she wants to hear. At my dd ballet school her teacher only picks the children she thinks will have a good chance ,so we are all a little hopeful

No not yet:( my friend dd who got in last year said the date on her letter was the 18th so not long!!! As this is my first experience of waiting for letters I am a nervous wreck !

You seem to forget things that are happening at primary school.... Like today supposed to be wearing red white and blue but was pre occupied with dance stuff again!! Poor kid only one in uniform!!!!

Hi regattah, thank you for your advice we have decided to leave it till beginning of next year and that has gave her a break for a while , by then she might have realised she has missed doing it and want to try again. I would like her to try again as she did really enjoy it at one time

At the moment dd dance school don't do exams in tap and jazz I think that is changing as there are a few new teachers it is more focused on ballet .

There is a lot of students doing tap and jazz and it's a pretty big school. The jazz and tap in senior is divided in 3 grades . Dd went up to senior 1 and then there's 2 and 3 so they might do it differently as far as I am aware they don't do exams in tap and jazz. 2 and 3 looks like girls in there teens. I think when they go to grade 5 ballet they move up to senior 2 . Always been confused with it .

Hi thank you for your replies.. I don't think to be honest she was enjoying her previous tap and jazz class it took me a lot of effort to get her to go where with ballet class she couldn't wait . So I think going to give her a break from jazz and tap and just let her do ballet classes she has mentioned wanting to learn the violin so will look into that for her when she moved up on school in September . I want to keep her happy and having fun so would never push her into anything she decided she didn't want to do. She might decide in a few years she wants to try it again and that's fine with me thanks again for all your help and advice x

You guys have really put my mind at ease thank you that's why I didn't push her when she wanted to stop as I didn't want her to stop dancing all together and lose the fun side if it. I will go with the flow xx

Thank you everyone I had a chat with dd and she says at the moment she just wants to do ballet I have explained to her that if she decides to go back to jazz and tap that she will have to be in a class younger than her but she says that doesn't bother her! . I told get we could get her back into her interstage but she doesn't want to so not going to force the subject . I suppose there's always contempory when she's older and she also wants to Learn the violin in year4 at school so keeping her options open good to have a second opinion here as I am very new to this xx

Yes I agree I want her to enjoy her dancing too. Thanks for all your advice I think I will ask her teacher if she could go back to inter stage and stay there for a while x

Hi primrose her ballet teacher did say to me she was insure about putting her into grade 3 ballet just because it would mean moving her to higher tap but she didn't mention her stayingi in her previous tap class they just automatically move up I think. Think I will email her to arrange a chat.

I think I will have a chat with dd later and see how she feels. She used to say tap was boring her so I thought her going into a higher level would make it more interesting . Thank you for advice xx
