  1. Hi year 5 is normally filling places for kids that have been assessed out ( hoping mine isn't one ) still waiting!! I think it's similar to rbs I know there are some children that drop out through the year so they might be extra spaces too. but I have known it to happen as a few extra new kids started on year 5 in my dds class . Good luck xx

  2. Was lovely seeing all the girls and boys there all looking excited:) can't believe it's been 2 years since my dd auditioned ! I love it there as it's the only time I get to do my most favourite past time ... Reading :) cross fingers for u all xxx

  3. My dd started at 4 and like a lot if people didn't really have a idea and to be honest didn't even research anything. I went on yell and phoned up 3 schools around my area had to leave voice messages on all of them. And the first person who phones me back I went to see!! Luckily for us she is a amazing teacher and gives them lots if opportunities and I wouldn't have changed her for the world! They don't do festivals or anything but her teacher is always on lookout for her students to do. And to be honest at 4 all I wanted was to see my little girl skipping around in a pink tutu ;) I wasn't even thinking about careers or anything ( and was quite disappointed when they had blue leotards and little skirts)

  4. Hi when my daughter auditioned for year 4 i remember they went in a group of about 15 -20 and there was about 5 groups that day I think . In dd class there are about 17 . I am quite vague on it I'm afraid but there did seem a lot there when we went to audition . It us always best to get a place in year 4 as from that they are normally filling spaces for the kids that have been assessed out. Just tell her to try and relax and enjoy it they do tend to make them feel at ease . I didn't think my dd would get in with getting a no from royal but was so happy for her when we got the yes :) hope it goes well . Might see some of you there xx

  5. Sorry couldn't find a thread for elmhurst auditions.. But good luck to those auditioning today :) it's a lovely school and building is fab ! My dd has enjoyed it there for last 2 years .. And nothing to worry about its a very enjoyable experience xxx

  6. It is lovely for them to experience a class where all the children are there for their love of dancing! And it opens their eyes to what is out there for them, and Elmhurst is a lovely building and their studios are great:) at dds local school most lessons are in a local memorial hall so it's nice for her to dance in a proper dance studio ! Goodluck to your dd xxxxx

  7. Hi twiglet , so sorry for your dd . My dd has been a associate at elmhurst for 2 years and loves it! All I could say is when she auditioned for year 4 there she just came out beaming! She said it was a very basic class with normal stretching , they didn't have to do any splits or anything just do as much stretching as they could and just tell her to smile and enjoy the lesson. Dd was not very flexible then, but she just showed them how much she loves ballet and concentrated on her technique . I think it is very much like royal but a little more relaxed she said. I will cross my fingers for your dd . It was funny but on her first audition for year 4 royal she got a no , that was on the Saturday , the flowing Saturday she had elmhurst and was so determined to show them how good she was she went in totally ready for them ;). Just tell your dd to enjoy the class and not to worry it's a lovely hour with them she should enjoy it xxx

  8. I know what you mean twiglet we was on SWL too and she's been having private lessons with a ex royal ballet student who my mum knows and got a no this year and she thinks she's amazing ! And has right physique so I personally feel fed up with it but i know my dd will just keep on going !! Xx
