  1. Sorry about the disappointment of the no's... Huge achievement even making finals in the first place and it certainly doesn't mean the end, it's just not the right time... Many paths lead us to where we want to be I'm a great believer in fate and after our very rocky road over the last 5 years it has kept us going X

  2. It's was a few years ago now but when my dd did assessments at LJB there were guest teachers watching normal classes and we received a written assessment which was scored a week or so later... Very positive and lovely to read Hope this helps? I think movement in the groups depends on age, ability and new intake.

  3. Hi,

Just wondering if people can give me the low down on the paper/academic exams pupils have to do for The Hammond, Trying etc. Are they just to get an idea of where that pupil is or do they use them in their decision of acceptance along with auditions? We aren't there just yet but not that long until need to consider our options. Also is it really hard to get in or you just can't tell what they are looking for - dance skills alone, vocal skills, acting abilities, all of it?! Finally, do 11 year olds cope being away from home so young?

    With thanks in advance :)

My dd did one at school for The Hammond and one finals day at Elmhurst...

I had a look at the one sent to school and it was very simple really nothing to worry about at all

  4. Can anyone help? I'm filling in MDS form for CAT does anyone know when your child is no longer a dependent for funding purposes... My son is 18 living at home and is an apprentice starting his degree in September... Do I still put him on Part 8 of the form?

    Thanks

  5. I know what you mean about counting your lucky stars but hope you can find things to help. DD says the super powerful hand dryers; ie McDonald's .. She won't use them and wipes her hands on her jeans or leggings :)

Hello annaliesey it was super reading your dd's words thank you for sharing... my dd is also CAT and has a chronic ear condition which started when she was 11 she is now 15 and has only managed 2 wks dance this year and hasn't been to school since May... She is waiting surgery and continues to try and stay positive which at the moment is very difficult as she struggles to even get out of bed and cannot walk unaided thankfully her teachers on the CAT program have been very understanding and she refuses to give up hope that she can one day get back to dancing

  6. Like Sheila I have been guilty of not following this lovely forum for what seems like ages... I have missed following your lovely DC stories and journeys to the unknown... It's a very exciting time of year good luck to everyone

Dd is still determined to dance through set backs and illness when it rears it ugly head every now again... She refuses to give up and lose heart continuing her super training on the CAT programme at Dance City, who I may add manage her so well and never give up believing in her either!!

She has just returned from a workshop with Amanda Britton @ Rambert... In her words it was inspiring!!

Follow your heart, dreams and passions guys as many roads lead us to the same place 'DANCING'
