Huddsballetmum
Does anyone know of any residential contemporary summer schools? My dd is on the CAT programme at Northern Contemporary and will be attending a summer school there, but it is the first week of the school holidays and she would like to do something in addition over the summer. It will need to be residential however as I work full time and August is my busiest time of year so can't run her around or stay over with her. Worktolive
Dear Huddsballetmum There is a five day residential summer school in August which takes place in Escrick, York called York Dance Assembly that includes daily Contemporary classes. The contemporary teacher who will be on the faculty this year is Antonio Borriello from Phoenix Dance. The website is www.yorkshireballetscholarshipcentre.com where you will find more information. If you want to know more details you can message me. Legseleven
Bird College has an international summer school, as does Trinity Laban. Or perhaps a ballet-based summer school might suit your DD as most include contemporary classes alongside ballet?
Legseleven
My teacher friend reminded me that Bird College has a classical/contemporary summer course as well as their international summer school. Dependent on your DD's age and ballet level that may also interest her?
Huddsballetmum
Thanks all, that's really useful. I hadn't thought of Bird, which is very remiss of me so I will have a look on their website. yet again the ballet co-oers come to the rescue! Legseleven
Just thought, Huddsballetmum, perhaps her teachers at the CAT scheme have ideas re available summer schools/best ones for your DD's needs?
Anon2
Laban run a summer school if she is 16+. Might clash with the CAT one though as is early summer.
