  1. Does anyone know if they wait for the results of Tuesdays audition before sending out letters from the Friday lot? I had a feeling they just send the letters out anyway, but does anyone know any different?

  2. So sorry everyone! For got to add very best wishes to all those who auditioned yesterday and for Tuesday also. Good luck for the letters!

I know! It was bonkers!!! They seemed to be auditioning for all year groups on Friday - and boys too of course - but there were a huge number in each class - just don't know how they choose who to take to finals??

Just the wait now - shouldn't be too long - unlike RBS!!!

  3. So glad to hear that the auditions went well. My DD's friend auditioned for a Yr 9 MA place so we're keeping our fingers crossed for her. It was her first experience of an RBS audition but she found it really enjoyable. Good luck with the waiting everybody :)

What audition was she in? Assuming she was in Manchester as think that is the only one that has been so far? (I think!) My DD was in at 2.30pm with the other MAs xxx

  4. My DD was also in Group 2 - just average height in a black leotard.

It was really good to actually meet some forum mums and their dancing offspring in person! And speaking as someone who had never visited Elmhurst before... WOW what a school!! Good luck everyone. Though I've a feeling it's going to be a tough long haul for us! But just the experience was brilliant. And thank Goodness no snow like there was this time last year - made travelling less of a mission for most of us I'm sure. :)

Was LOVELY to meet you and your DD :) - what a nice morning it was! The school is amazing isn't it? We are expecting a "no" to finals but it never harms to get your face seen! ;) It was fantastic weather wise - more like a gorgeous spring day - we were very lucky as it could have been SO much worse!

Thanks! Can't believe it was a year since we met there - it was nice to see Lildancers DD there yesterday! x

  6. Not until they have completed the audition tour - I am guessing mid February. Think you get about 2 weeks notice of finals from memory?

    Best of luck all!

My DD enjoyed her audition in Manchester but holds out little hope!

  7. DD did Elmhurst audition today for a Y9 place. The standard was amazing.

Oh hello! My DD was in Group 2 (the tall blonde MA one!!!) - which was your DD? I probably spoke to you as I was in "chatter" mode!!! :D - I was the one with (dyed!) brown hair having a bad hair day - black jumper and jeans.

  8. My DD was not old enough to do Elmhurst last year but has done YBS and loved every minute of it! Beautiful place to do a summer school (we are lucky enough to live half an hour drive away but DD chose to board for the experience). There are some amazing dancers - it was wonderful to watch the classes and performance at the end of the week. The teaching is exceptional.

Students age 14 and over are allowed out into York (it is in central York).

Also they offer 2 different weeks.

I would love my DD to be able to go back again. :)

  9. Same as above - my DD started it in year 8 at her ballet school and will finish it in a few months. She did it as a bit of an optional extra to get one under her belt as the opportunity was there. It is defo more about choreography and reviewing other works than dance - no ballet whatsoever (DD very ballet orientated) but she has enjoyed the opportunity to work with her friends on the dance pieces and it has been a nice way to ease her into the GCSE way of thinking.

  10. @beccijackson - tell her not to worry as it is a very basic audition! Tell her just to enjoy it - there won't be anything that she will struggle with! Please keep us posted! Best of luck!

    F xxx :)
