I wondered whether it was to reassure the audience that the priest wasn't up to something 'dodgy'? Although the 'extra' succeeded in looking a bit 'sus' himself.
The 'extra' was Harry Price from Balletboyz behind all that fake facial hair 😄

The fight and that (very fortuitous!) rainstorm worked really well (I’m assuming it was a real storm??).
Matthew Ball said ( at the Sadlers Wells post show talk on 9th Dec) that it was a rain machine

This is what I remember from the Q&A session (from memory and in no particular order):
Michael Nunn, William Trevitt, William Bracewell, Marcelino Sambe, Matthew Ball – interviewed by someone whose name I didn’t catch.
I
The interviewer was Sarah Crompton journalist and dance writer/critic

Sambe was terrific in the solo he danced during the Mandolin Dance, where the lead Mandolin dancer usually has the role. Sambe was superfast, very exciting to watch. The tempo was fast all through, this was discussed in the Q&A after the screening.

On social media tonight, Shale has explained that he sustained a foot injury , prior to his Mariinsky performance, which proved to be a stress fracture. He is now receiving treatment and rehabilitation and let’s hope he makes a speedy recovery and we will get to see him dance again when he has completely recovered .

I agree that Bolle and Nunez were glorious last night. His partnering is impeccable and that first opening solo where he expressed his love was beautiful. He may not be the best actor but he has a beautiful line in arabesque .

I also enjoyed Programme B on Sunday matinee. As an aside, there was a tribute to Alvin Ailey ( and other performers/singers/poets/actors) who succumbed to the HIV virus at a fundraising evening I attended last night at the Shepherds Bush Empire. Fernando Montano danced a solo to The Dying Swan which was very beautiful.

I, myself, have often felt - much like Deborah Bull - that Laura Morera falls into this category - but understand that there are often reasons that we cannot be aware of why this may be so.
Certainly I would have LOVED to have seen her in Month in the Country - as much as I would - once more - adore to see her in Oneign - which, obviously, is not to be.
She has done such yeoman service. I pray that she might be kept about even after she has stopped dancing on the ROH stage - to handle some of the Ashton coaching in the RB future. I can but feel that it would be keenly appreciated.
Elsewhere I have often felt that Novikova at the Mariinsky has not achieved all that she deserved/deserves - but I understand that many - perhaps even most - here will not have had a chance to see her live. She is, I promise, magical.
I agree re Laura.. she is so very expressive in Ashton and MacMillan, I've loved her as Larisch and in Fille with Ricardo Cervera, I miss their partnership too... I would have loved them both to be principals and dancing together...
I saw Novikova once this July as La Sylphide and she was beautiful.

And now... Ed Watson. Seemingly vanished with no fanfare, no announcement, no acknowledgement of his immense contribution. I never thought he would be discarded so quickly
It’s generally known that Edward Watson has been off with an injury. He has not retired or left the RB. He was dancing with members of the RB last week at the Joyce Theatre, see my review of Programme D in performances seen . He looked fit and well.
