  1. What is the local centre that is closing? We are in a similar position as we're in Wales- and annoyingly no centres in Wales at all! The closest is 1.5hrs but only by car (much longer by public transport), next is 2 hrs just on public transport slightly longer by car. So not ideal sadly!
  2. It was £215 for the year (12 sessions) for the Online JA place. I'm not sure how that compares to in person JA I'm afraid but sure someone else will! They are 1hr 15mins long each if that helps! And they will be apparently sent a homework style sheet/ something to practice each week. The first week was on posture.
  3. Agree! My daughter is on the 9am Online Associates class- about 20 or so children. It seemed really organised and although obviously not as good as being in a studio, they really made the most of it and still gave corrections / feedback etc where they could, and my daughter enjoyed it! The teacher was really lovely too, which really made it.
  4. Online Junior Associates Has anyone else heard which class they will be doing time wise? I just wondered how many people might be in each class/ if they are age grouped! I'm not sure whether there would be that much movement from the short waiting list now into in-person Associates- assuming most people have accepted and paid by now? So guessing they're pretty much fixed at this stage. My daughter, who will be a young Year 5, is in the 9am class (purple). Also I noticed in the handbook that they have the Associates hoody uniform, which is nice!
  5. Really helpful thank you! How does it work in terms of attendance- is it OK to miss a few, or is it the kind of thing they really frown upon and you need to message in advance to say which they won't be attending etc? Thank you!
  6. I've been wondering the same and asked the question around but not heard anything- so I've asked on the old 'starting JAs' thread from last year to see if anyone went through the online JAs on there and knows what the cost was! If I find out I'll try and reply here. Seems weird there is no mention of a cost! They did say there would be more information in July- so assuming it will come out then perhaps.
  7. Hi! I'm just jumping on this thread in the hope that I may find someone who ended up doing the online JAs this last year/ was kept on the waiting list? My child has been put on the short waiting list and Online JAs for Sept +. but I'm just wondering what the cost was attached to this this year please? And any other information like how your child got on with them etc? Thank you to anyone in advance!
  8. I think there have been a few answers to some of this- sounds like the online Associates are Sunday mornings, and I guess 12 sessions it says online divided over Sept to March? - so every few weeks I guess. I'm not sure what the cost was though! If that helps
  9. Thanks so much for the information! Really helpful. What was the cost of them approximately please? Thank you!
  10. Really good to know thank you. A couple of questions if possible?! So sorry!... - What was cost attached to these please? - Were they about once a month? - What approx. time of day were they? Thank you!
  11. Our short waiting list offer says this too - so maybe gives them a few days to get any no's sorted before the waiting list deadline? Who knows! But either way- am happy!
  12. Really good to know, thank you! I'm guessing usually only come up if someone has been offered two places in different schools or something- but you never know! To be honest she'll be thrilled with an online place, and our nearest centre is like 2 hours away so better travel wise! 😅 But we'll go with the flow! Thanks so much for the info
  13. Really helpful, thank you! Any idea how many people get a short waiting list?
  14. Exactly the same as us- we had no expectations and just went for a fabulous experience, so am thrilled whatever happens really! Would be great if anyone knows the process and what it actually means!
  15. Us too!- but for Birmingham. Any idea how many people go on waiting lists? I wonder how short is short?!
  16. Huge well done to all with yeses!! We got a short waiting list and online associates place- I'm really thrilled for her for a first go! No idea what it means though really 😆 Guessing a short waiting list never really end up getting a place?
  17. They said to us this week that it would likely be the first week or two of July, at a push end of June - if I remember rightly! So I'm assuming another month ish!
  18. Yes! My daughter said the same for Wednesday. They mostly stood in different positions and did some stretching, and then pretended to be snowflakes whilst sitting down. Really interesting! She equally came out buzzing though- so it's brilliant they had a fun experience!
  19. How did everyone get on? I hope everyone enjoyed it! Was today in London the last auditions? Or is there another? My daughter really loved the experience! And thank you for the tip on the socks for those who suggested the tights style socks!
  20. I hope everyone's children have been enjoying their experiences so far and had fun! I just wondered if anyone knew why they take so few children for the Associate programme in each place?- it's seems like around a handful at most/ one class worth? I understand there needs to be exclusivity to it, but it seems for a JA level especially there could easily be several classes a day or something on a Saturday (different teachers maybe) as it's all being paid for by each child that goes? (So not as if they are losing money at each class or anything I don't imagine?- in fact surely it is a great way of making money to fund other things higher up the chain!) It just got me wondering that's all- maybe it is the exclusivity and they only want a handful of kids to go through it in each place. Interesting though, especially as there is evidently so much interest around the UK!
