Now that all the results are out, I would just like to congratulate everyone who got a yes. Fingers crossed something materialises for those on the SWL and hopefully see all the ‘no’s’ on here again next year 😂 Enjoy your classes those who start in January. It really is a very special place and you are very lucky to have been accepted into the program 😍🩰

My daughter (as many others do) has all of the physical attributes you would expect they would want. Slim, great feet, great turnout and flexibility but she still got a no. I think it just boils down to number of places. There just aren’t enough for the number of children which apply. I don’t think we should be disheartened with the no’s. I am definitely of the belief it just means ‘not yet’. It was suggested by our teacher that we audition this year but we missed the closing date. Luckily they reopened the applications in June and we applied then. We are looking at this as (a very expensive) practise run. We know what to expect now. We know what to work on and will try again next year. If it’s still a no, then that’s just not meant to be for her and we will look at other options. I personally feel it has taught my daughter that although she has been blessed with all the physical attributes which will help her in ballet, you still need to work hard. It is her second ever audition after successfully gaining a place at Ballet Boost in summer and she even mentioned on Monday that she hadn’t tried as hard for the Royal audition as she had for Ballet Boost so hopefully she might now realise if she really wants this then she needs to work for it. Don’t give up folks.

Our videos were watched thoroughly and we still got a no. I think there are so little spaces and so many applicants, you have to have something that extra special to stand out. Hopefully it won’t put you or your DC off having another try.

We received a no for our DD Year 4 Leeds. She was very upset but she started Ballet Boost in September so she has that to be proud of. They have suggested she tries again next year. Is that a standard email? The competition is fierce and there are so many talented dancers out there. Good luck to everyone who is waiting to hear.

Maybe it’s 1 Centre being looked at first within the Group

Interesting to learn some Group 2’s are being viewed a second time when not all Group 2’s have been viewed a first time? Do you think it would be worth emailing closer to our deadline if still no views? I am worried in case our links have not worked.

Ha yes you are right. It did. It’s probably just me interpreting it incorrectly!

On the email notifying us it was to be a video audition, I interpreted that as it was our first choice centres only and they weren’t even going to look at second choice as it says our centre choices can’t be changed. Has anyone else thought the same? Because of the sheer volume of videos we will therefore have to assess, we are going to break the process down based on your first choice centre. Your centre choices can no longer be changed.

Hi. We are Group 2 and I don’t think ours have been watched yet and my DD friend hasn’t either. I say don’t think as I am not convinced the views are not mine and I can’t work out the analytics. 😂 Someone posted you will hear 1 month after deadline so 1st Oct. Group 2 will be 14th. I am only guessing here but wouldn’t London be the largest group so maybe just taking a long time to decide? I think my daughter would have done better in a class audition as she tends to follow her dance teachers instructions better than her mother’s (as we found out in lockdown). She really wants a place but she got annoyed with my technical incompetence and it was written all over her face. 🤷🏼‍♀️
