I may sound like a stuck record - but I have only positive things to say about the academics at Tring .
My DS got great GCSE results and 2 good grades in A level Maths and Physics .
His best friend got 3 A* and went on to do medicine .
Neither could have done any better .
I agree with this. The academic staff this year I have found in the main to be excellent. Really good communication too.

I can’t answer your question about the training but several do associates alongside.

Could someone tell me about the numbers in classes for SMB please? Thank you

It was June last year before we got a wait list offer. Don’t lose hope. There is still movement as people are deciding on vocational places.
The waiting is awful, I know!- 1

Perhaps it will help. If schools take this on board then those who wouldn’t have even considered dancing will have access and perhaps then seek out a local dance school?

Same for us. Missed a year of primary school. It didn’t affect us academically either although it was a big adjustment at the beginning.

If we had our time again, we would not have given the place up.
Better to not shut the door completely I believe. Just my musings!
Agree with this. In hindsight we would not have given up our MA place either.
Vocational/boarding is not for everyone.

We haven’t but know of someone else with an offer for summer intensive last week. Maybe give them a call after Easter break

Ah that sounds lots of fun. My DD has been practicing her bun so she can do it on her own whilst she’s away!
They all help each other. I’m sure she’ll have a great time.

My dd got week 1 too but she’s a bit nervous about staying away so still deciding if she will take it or not!
We are wk 3.
This will be the second time for my DD. Last year was her first residential and she felt the same way. She had an absolute ball and she still keeps in touch with the girls she met last year.
lots of fun and plenty of activities after dancing to keep them amused.

Results out. Wait list for us

The coming home is a problem if you live too far away! A weekend is a long time for them to do nothing.

Thanks everyone. It sounds like Elmhurst getting it right. Keeping them busy so homesickness is kept at bay.

Thank you.
Wow! They keep them entertained then.
Is she Y7? -
Not one in particular but would help in decision making.

Interested to hear from those who have DCs currently boarding in lower school on what the house staff do to keep them occupied when not dancing.
thanks -
I thought everyone was same day. Maybe I’m wrong though?! We are UK and are Monday 6th for testing first and then welcome meeting.
I can’t see anything on the email about start of term we’ve been sent about international. It’s says ‘all new Prep - 4th form’.- 1

My daughter wears the 9-11. She’s just turned 11 and I think it would do her another few years! The jogging bottoms we had to turn the elastic over in the waistband the first year. Sizing is generous

Just wondering if the open day will happen now with Boris’s announcement this week?

Yes, I saw some posts too and I thought they are either late or somebody just had a call.

The last one I sent out I got a massive cardboard box for moving house and separated the sides.
Tutu covered in black bin bags to protect from getting wet.
Cardboard on the bottom. Cardboard on the top and brown tape all round the sides.
