Hi there, does anyone have any adult leotards size large for sale preferably yumiko or wearmoi? Thanks
-
Do you have a picture of the leotard and is it adult size?
-
Order from wearmoi, based in UK and better quality tights and leotards than yumiko!

I have wide feet, and find I need to get the Bloch men's ballet flats - don't know what their name is - to get the necessary width. I wouldn't necessarily describe my toes as stumpy, though, although they're not that long, but I think I probably have a high vamp.
So, okay, your local shop's not much good - but is there anything better that's a shorter journey away than London which she might manage, because there's really no substitute for trying them on? I'm also wondering whether there's any mileage to be had by ringing a good shop and possibly sending them an outline of the foot on paper to give them some idea of foot shape? It wouldn't automatically deal with the high vamp, of course.
Are they the male synchrony ones? I found these to be the stretchiest out of the bloch ones

Finding larger sized ballet wear is a complete pain in the bum. Whoever makes it obviously doesn't expect size 16 women to do ballet and makes no allowance for D cups. I think there is definitely a gap in the market. It took me the best part of a year of class to feel confident enough to want to wear actuall ballet clothes so it's a bit of a downer that it's so difficult to find anything.
@balletgremlin made me the most incredibly awesome wrap skirt (which makes everyone else in class wildly jealous) so I would recommend her work and I'd pay real money for her to make and sell a leotard that would actually fit and have poppers between the legs.
I found a leotard on Etsy from a seller called fashionfabrics17. The quality is not amazing but they are cheap and they do larger sizes which is good. I got another from Bezonnier through Amazon which is better quality but more expensive. I don't like going to actual shops because I always think everyone else is laughing at the plump middle aged woman wanting ballet clothes so I prefer online if possible.
I will check out Esme dance for custom made, thanks for the tip.
Esty is a good site more of a range, I've always struggled to find mens footed nylon/lycra tights but was able to get two pairs off there

Did you find the wider shoe? As i wear footed tights with socks they are hard to come by especially the freeds ones

That's stunning, he's always so beautiful when he jumps and spins and looks so beautifully light in motion. I agree with others that lighter coloured tights would have shown off his legs better. They did rather blend into the background.
The shinier lycra tights would have been more effective, fantastic performance though

As Kate N said, the beginner's classes will feel weird for a while. It is definitely worth sticking with though.

For a beginner i had private lessons at first which i found useful for when i joined a beginner's class. I now do 2 classes a week, the one on one lessons were useful.

Definitely go for it, i took it up a few months ago and wish i had done it years ago now

I'm a fan of roch valley simply because they are the only ones that I can find without that weird bit of extra gusset material sewn in which I find really uncomfortable in other pairs I've tried. Does anyone else find this? If so have you found a company that does them without the gusset thing as the only ones I can find are from roch valley and the only place I can seem to get them is one of our local dance shops?
Wearmoi and yumiko are very good but quite expensive

Barnums is only 10 mins walk from Warrington Bank Quay. We've been very happy with fittings there but if you have small/difficult feet stock levels aren't great and you need to return. The Liverpool place is near Lime Street and has a bigger stock I think.
We had a mixed experience at one of the Preston shops.
Do they do male dance wear do you know?

The dance belt was the first thing bought, its a must for ballet. At first i opted for shorts but been given footed tights and will try them next class

How would you know it, unless you are a ballet professional, or you're frequenting classes at one of the top ballet schools and have close contacts with those who teach there, and with the dancers taking the classes?
True, its as equally hard for both

Yumiko leotards are the absolute best along with wearmoi, quite expensive but well worth it along with the tights.
