Just had a reminder on YouTube for the next Insight which is on Monday at 19:30 (I wasn't aware of this beforehand so would have missed it!) - oddly its for The Sleeping Beauty - I would have thought that they would have broadcast this before the current run, but there we are!

It was Magri and Corrales, both solos and pas de deux, coached by Benjamin. Also interviews with all of them, Stephen Wicks and the head of costumes (sorry can't remember her name). I thought it was brilliant. Leanne Benjamin is a terrific coach - sees everything, very demanding, and gives them so much to take on board but also plenty of praise and encouragement. And I thought Leanne Cope was an excellent presenter. Really enjoyable. (Though I did think a quick resumé of the plot at the beginning would have been a good idea, and then saying exactly how what they were rehearsing fitted in.)
Absolutely - certainly one of the best insights I have seen (and that’s even watching on my phone in my hotel room!)
I don’t think I’ve seen Leanne Cope presenting before- she was excellent

What review? I've never been sent one and so far I've attended 4 performances this season. Anyway they can't be that interested in people's opinions if there is no room for individual comments. X
I'm going again this Saturday evening so I might mention the cast change list then.
I get an automated message after a visit, saying they hoped I enjoyed a performance and asking me to complete a survey - it only has two questions: did I enjoy it (1 to 10) and would I recommend someone to visit (1 to 10)

She certainly was going for it in my opinion last Saturday matinee and I too was disappointed when she wasn't cast for it in the cinema relay. But then I saw her do an equally fabulous variation in Concerto so it's swings and roundabouts really.
To change the subject to cast changes there were a whole list of them read out before last Saturday's matinee. When I went to the main desk in the foyer and asked if they had a cast change list I was told they didn’t do them any more and I either had to copy them manually from their list or photograph it on my phone which I did. Leaving the theatre at the end of the performance I walked past the same desk which now had a pile of cast change lists on it which would probably end up being thrown away as being too late for most people.
mmmm not good. I would take it up with RoH - clearly some training needed there! I would suggest mentioning in the review that one gets sent after a performance but since it only asks two questions and doesn't give any opportunity to comment, I won't !

James Hay and Anna-Rose were lovely - a beautiful partnership. I'm just not that keen on SB !

I was slightly stunned to see footage of James Hay dancing Concerto with a beard! Did he actually do that in a live performance, or was it a rehearsal which they filmed?
Since he was clean-shaven last night, I guess if he appears as Lescaut tonight with a significant beard we'll know it's fake
He was clean shaving this afternoon - so unless he has incredible beard growth, its fake!

A bit much James Hay and Anna-Rose have the principal roles in Sleeping Beauty in today’s general rehearsal !

What a terrific evening at the cinema. So glad to have seen Concerto (which I missed on Saturday) which I thought was fantastic. The lighting was a bit too dark for Engima but i think I "got it" this time. Raymonda was a splendid way to finish.
Off to the general rehearsal of Sleeping Beauty on Wednesday. I may be a bit ballet-ed out !
I would also just say how impressive the general presenting, interviews and behind the scenes videos are for the screening - and what a lovely guy James Hay is !

A wonderful afternoon that lousy weather and unpleasant trains could not spoil- (sorry for MJW - bad luck.)
Thank you !

Well not a good start as missed Concerto due to train delays as a result of fallen trees on the line, and, despite running up 193 steps at Covent Garden, it had already started. Watching on a big screen in the Crush Bar is not quite the same thing ! Anyway despite not being in the best frame of mind, I thoroughly enjoyed Engima and Raymond - Osipova clearly having a ball. I can hopefully watch it all when I see the cinema screening on Tuesday night.

As ever I thought the RB's contribution to the Day was fascinating. I am pleased that it happened to coincide with a day off work so I was able to watch much of it live! I can now catch up and watch the bits I missed whilst clearing the garden!

Well I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Manon on Saturday afternoon with Hayward and Campbell. The time seemed to whizz by! Cesar Corrales was just fabulous he was so strong and his steps so assured I loved him! Mayara Magri was great as well. Francesca Hayward played Manon to a "T" and Alex was such a sensitive and caring De Grieux I really liked him, even if Corrales did slightly eclipse him dance wise. Glorious music under the baton of Koen Kessels.
What a lovely afternoon - not a favourite of mine, Manon, but this cast was just the ticket. I really enjoyed it and it ended with a tear brought to the eye, so "job done" as they say. Lovely to catch up with some fellow balletco-ers as well - you know who you are! Some photos from the curtain call:-
Brilliant photos thank you - where were you sitting to take those?

For those crossing the river from Waterloo, my preferred option is to use the Jubilee footbridge - less likely to be targeted and has the advantage of not having to breath in traffic fumes!

I don't know if anyone else went this morning to see the RB's morning class on the main stage. Absolutely fascinating and well worth a visit if they do it again next year.
A couple of photos - obviously these are well before it started hence the small numbers on stage

I hadn't actually realised there was no running time on the website - how ridiculous is that? Thankfully I am going to the Saturday matinee which starts at a very early 12noon, but still...
-
I think this is being streamed on YouTube as well this year - which is great given the Facebook issues.

That was reasonably smooth this morning - certainly better than last time! 😊
Hope everybody manages to get what they want

I am pleased to see William Bracewell as Romeo as he was of course out through injury during the run earlier in the year so missed his opportunity (and as I had booked to see him as Romeo in May!) 😊

Looks fantastic - I wasn't aware at all about this, so was so surprised when I started getting posts about this afternoon on IG. Unfortunately I was supposed to be concentrating on my work rather than my phone !

Very good to read on a wet, windy afternoon.
Or even quite a nice sunny afternoon! I thought it was a very interesting read particularly following the Prince George kerfuffle.

I think William Bracewell is next on stage in December in Enigma Variations. Coincidentally I was thinking the same thing the other day
