  1. I got really excited when I saw another view 🤣

Its such a lovely place. I'm guessing there wont be a lot of movement in this audition compared to the summer one 😫  We have already discussed if it's a 'not yet' we will try again x

    Hi all,

Ive been trying to compile a list of summer schools for this summer that are in person rather than online. This may be somewhat optimistic - but I’m aware that some deadlines are looming so wanted to do some information gathering sooner rather than later!

My dancer will soon be thinking about whether she wants to apply to vocational school and if so, which ones. I’ve therefore been restricting my searches to summer schools that have post 16 courses. I think this might give her a taster of the school generally. She’s not yet sure whether she wants to go down the classical route or aim for a more varied dance education. Just to restrict things further, I haven’t gone for any London locations - we’re not ruling them out but thinking that maybe next summer we will have a closer look at those as options.

So far, our list for summer schools consists of:

    Elmhurst,

Northern Ballet School (couldn’t find this on their website as the page link states it doesn’t exist, however when using google I came across the application form for this year),

    Tring,

    KS Dance

Moorland (missed the deadline for this one).

I can’t seem to find any info on whether Hammond is going ahead. Maybe someone has some info on this? I haven’t included RBS as I’m sure the deadline for that has passed.

I was desperately hoping that RCS would go ahead this summer, but I received an email today that suggests it is online only, which is frustrating. This one was at the top of our list!

Have I missed any others that are worth considering? I know there are a few amazing summer schools that aren’t attached to vocational courses - but we wanted to kill two birds with one stone really, and try and get a taste of a school whilst attending a summer course. Also if anyone does recommend any London based summer schools, please do suggest them.

Any guidance or suggestions gratefully received! :)

Hiya I'm sure moorland extended their summer school deadline x

Tring were pretty quick with CBA results in September so hopefully you'll all hear soon 🤞

And try not to read anything into views or lack of, DD successfully auditioned for one of the big associates last year having only had a couple of minutes or so watched of her video. You really can never tell!

Thankyou, bit if obsessive YouTube looking going on here 🤣 Was that a video audition in September?

Yes we had a view when I first sent it in and another this weekend. I think they’ve watched about 2 minutes over the weekend. But I think they watched about 5 minutes the first time.
Did they watch much of yours?

I think it was 2mins 40 over the weekend x

On a computer, go to your "channel content" where your list of videos shows up (only one vide for me). Hover the mouse over the name of the video and a couple of icons will show up. The second one is video analytics. Click on it. You will see a squiggly graph of the views. Click on more (under the graph). At the top of the new graph there is a button called "traffic source". Click it and it will give you breakdown of views and average view duration.

Thankyou for that, I found it. I take it it comes under direct or unknown? Oh well what will be will be. Good luck to your DD

Our video has been watched twice as well on the 31st of March. I don't feel very optimistic because it's hardly been watched at all. My daughter is only 7 and hasn't auditioned before so I knew this would be a long shot. I am more upset at the personal effort that it required of me to put the video together for only 10% of it to be viewed.

Maybe this weekend they were just trying them all out. Ready for them to have a viewing day this week to email everyone by the 15th. I'm sure they will watch them all otherwise they wouldn't of asked for it to be a certain length of time.

I can see more data now but I still cant tell how you are able to see how much theyve watched 🙈

I cant tell how much they've watched.  I've gone into my videos, will I be able to see from there? Our video was about 13mins I think

I believe so. Someone has viewed over the weekend and I think that’s a 2 be viewing. You?

I think we may have had one over the weekend too. Do you mean you've had 2 viewings? I cant really tell as our teacher watched one , then when i downloaded it i kept going into it which created loads of viewings 🤣🙈

For anyone taking part in the online spring intensive, have you had an email with the zoom links yet??

We're booked on but not had anything yet. RB are usually early with these things and due to the bank holidays thought it may arrive today?? 🤔🤔

We havent received anything yet either x

I haven't uploaded it yet. I still need to retake the photos. I was going to send it via Vimeo because I've used that before. Do you think most people do YouTube?

I haven't uploaded it yet. Still need to take the photos. I was going to upload it via Vimeo. I've never used YouTube. Is YouTube recommended / preferable?

Ah ok. I found it so easy and had never sent anything that way before x

I've looked at everything again and I am just going to redo the photos. With the video, due to the movement, I think everything looks fine (especially when I watched on a computer and not on my phone) but with the photos, they could be better. I didn't even think I had a black background in my house but as my daughter was dancing in front of the fireplace in our living room, it turns out that due to her height, her torso was positioned straight in front of the fireplace, and the inside of it is painted in a dark colour so with hindsight any colour but a black leotard would have been better. Oh well ...

Has your video been viewed yet?

  12. I think as long as you dont wear the same colour leo as the background it should be fine. Maybe just send them an email and say if they would prefer you could send another video. They probably wont expect you to go through all that again xx

Ah yes maybe they play them quickly just to check its come through properly first

They watched a good 60-70% twice. But could have been 1 person watching it all, I don’t know.  X

I can see where you find the views but how can you tell how much theyve watched? The minute I send it I'll be checking every 5 mins 🤣

    I bet there's hardly any spaces 😔

This is my Dad's 3rd year and she has really benefited from the classes. The teachers are very positive and encouraging. There is a ballet class with guest teachers and an exercise/skills class. There is an emphasis on safety so she has learnt a lot about how her body works and how to exercise and develop safely. When we have been able to watch at the end of the year it is amazing to see how hard they work. I have little technical knowledge never having danced myself, but I know my DD enjoys the classes and has grown in knowledge as well as skills.

    Thankyou sounds good x
