We're still waiting for RCS results too. I suppose with Bank Holiday it's only been 3 working days. Hope it's soon as we need to reply to Central's offer asap
Just out of interest what is the deadline for all acceptance applications for central? Hope your dd hears soon from RCS

What a lovely day that must have been orchidblue- which school and when did they contact you? Thank you. Gosh I thought Rambert had finished ages ago taxi4ballet - there's hope yet then! Dd on reserve list for Central pointyfeet
Hi I know this is an old thread but dd is on reserve list for central at the moment we are praying a place becomes available did your dd get offered a place at central in the end?

Thank you everyone for your help on trains.
We won't be living a long way and having dd commute daily for class. I was just thinking about needing to get to London for various things (like hopefully seeing RB performances once in a while). We lived in London for a year when we first were married. I remember the long winter commutes from zone 4, don't really feel like doing all that again.
I think the best option is to go for BTUK where the rent is much more affordable. DH should be able to work in Birmingham (I really wish they would confirm it) so he and dd can catch trains in opposite directions.
I know this is a very old forum but my dd has just been put on the waiting list for central and just wondered if your dd was offered a place in the end? The wait is so frustrating at the moment and without knowing how many are on the list only adds to the suspense we are praying a place becomes available!

There are girls not accepting their places so fingers crossed that something comes up in the next few weeks 🤞🏻
That’s promising then keeping our fingers crossed! 🤞🏻

I have no idea if this is true or not Ballet4ever, but they did say on the day that all the auditions were recorded, so hopefully they can just review candidates on the video when places become available. I hope your Dd gets her place there!
Yes a video was recordered we are praying a place comes available as it was her first choice of a school a long painful few months I think!

My dd has been put on the waiting list for central is it true that if places become available that candidates on the list have to go for another audition!? Tia

That’s exactly what I would like to know!! My DS was a “no”, but we are extremely proud of him as he started ballet late and got into Elmhurst finals on his first audition. However, he was devastated and I wondered if they operated a waiting list like Tring, I haven’t seen anyone mention this year that their DC has been placed on the reserve list. Onwards and upwards as he’s happy to try again next year, just wish you could have feedback.
I haven’t heard anyone this year gaining a waiting list place either I’ve never heard of a dd or ds receiving a no from elmhurst then later being offered a place because of people turning places down just seems a bit bizarre really not having a waiting list!
-
I would also like to know if elmhurst have a reserve list surely girls turn down places for other schools and they have to offer others places? Unless they will just have a smaller year group?

although an old article an interesting and very accurate description of how I felt this school treated my dd during her years there. After coming away from this environment she is a lot more confident in herself and is thriving and currently auditioning for us this week I think the saying is never judge a book by its cover or in this case never judge a school by its name always look further into personal experiences

My dd has upcoming upper school auditions this week we were planning on wearing canvas shoes but dd likes the look of her satin flats not sure if the satin shoes look a bit young for her age? Any advice please?

Dd is not applying to Tring but her friends who are have mostly choreographed their own solo. Contemporary style seems popular.
Dd’s strongest style is ballet so hope she’s not the only one!

Hi, my dd has also got a tring audition for 6th form I can’t answer your question but dd is anxious about the 1 minute solo in preparation how hard should it be my dd will do ballet but should it be on pointe or flats and would a variation from a istd ballet exam be ok or should it be a more complex variation from a ballet eg sleeping beauty? Thanks

Hi, my dd is auditioning for 6th form schools this year but I don't just want to limit my searches to the uk I don't know many schools abroad so any suggestions and information will be greatly appreciated many thanks

Thanks, are there any other 6th forms that do this other than royal and ENBS?
How long do your pointe shoes last?
