  1. I would imagine they are assessing both these things all the time but would do specific physio checks also...

Thank you Sarahw. I try to learn about the process, even though I know there is no way to prepare for finals really or change things...

  2. Hyperextension can be an advantage but in larger amounts can be a disadvantage as there is more risk of injury and a lot of strength is needed to control it.

Thank you! That was I was afraid of :) Do you know by any chance if then they check the current muscles strength at the same time they check for hyperextention ?:) DC works on her strength exercises to make it all work....or they only check the hyper?
  3. It will depend on how many existing JA's will be moving up to MA's I think.

Maybe it is different in other centres but I don't think JA move up, they audition like everybody ... so don't think directly affected by JA ...it is more about the existing MA how many of them leave as MA group are mixed years

  4. Is the above mentioned hypextention is a good thing or a bad thing? Or it is the degree of it that makes it good or bad thing?

Turn out is clearly a good thing:) but hyperextention? Any ideas?

And thank you for the info!!!

  5. Thank you Bluebird!

You are such a nurturing teacher for your students ..

i wish was possible to get a feedback and be aware of both: the ones DC can work on for the future and non workable ones as well ...

Will be more helpful than " all the children who came were talented but the spaces are limited" kind of thing ...

Nothing will stop my child to try over again:) but I think feedback would be so helpful ....

  6. I agree with you Mak on the definite obvious to them NO ...

I speak from parent perspective as it is now, WE have no way to guess now... and I get it and totally agree with your point that it would be so much better if a complete helpless No for both was send soon after audition as he wait is so horrible ...what I think for us now because the system is like that, we now have no chance to guess and all are still for surprises bad or good!

  7. I don't agree entirely Hopeful, although I do on most of your post ????. As RBS allows all applicants to audition there will definitely be some that they wouldn't consider for Mids regardless of the outcome of Finals. If my dd happens to be in that group she'd much rather be put out of her misery now. Allnewtome sorry to hear your result. I do know of dancers who have got into Mids without having been invited to Finals.

I agree totally that in some VERY obvious to them NO for both they could send both and end up the horrible waiting:)

  10. I agree with you now and your original post too...

I made a different point that in a current system for us now as you said we simply don't know, so a yes can be a no in a bit and a no can be a yes for MA. So for now none of us knows and we all still can have a better or worse outcome .... the ones with a no now can end up with MA a yes for finals can turn into nothing ...

I don't think panel even knows at that point as maybe some who made it to finals will show something that RBS decides on a second look not to get them even MA....everything is still open with MA ... in some extreme cases they maybe tell you a no for both and they won't and I agree it prolongs the wait for nothing but we have no way to guess

  11. It is a long wait but all of our DC still have to be in this larger pool :) as yes for final can turn into a no for both WL and MA even sometimes ...very fast and a no for finals can turn into a yes for MA. So It is more like a deck of cards ♣️ all still mixed ????

  12. I know there is nothing at the moment to make you feel better but just to ease it maybe a tiny bit...They still consider everybody for both ...and they would invite to finals regardless .... so pls don't feel so bad about not having it marked DancingPrincess...

You might end up on of the very few lucky ones who get MA... And some who get finals might get nothing at the end.... Really hope you get an MA and make it to WL shortly after still!

  13. The shortest wait time is frequently the last audition. Don't forget London Yr 7 auditions for girls were only ten days ago ????

Good point ???? I reconsidered, thanks! I won't go for shortest then, as be the last one to know ...Birmingham seems a great one then....???????????? 12 days waiting and in a middle :) Bath waited threee weeks? So not going there ... Every day feels like 10! Well I wish all good luck and have a feeling we meet in next year chat as well ???? London hope you are the shortest and get yours today!!!
  14. If I learned anything from this ....I think we go next time to the centre with the shortest wait for results ????

On a serious note to all the waiting, I hope today you finally get your answer and have happy news ...
