Thank you mummy twinkle toes. It was a very hard decision to make as all so new. My DD very much excited about her new adventure. I wish I could connect with others on this journey to kings too. Fingers crossed for your dds for the associates. When will you find out? Keep me posted thank you.
I have just found out both Dds got a place. My youngest will be really happy as it is her first ballet associate course. Congrats again to your Dd.

It's no more then 16 children for the professional dancers diploma. Is it same for the associates.
Friday evening we accepted my DD place on the professional dancers diploma course.
Congrats to your Dd. I think she will have a really good time and training.
They do want to keep numbers small so they can give each dancer attention.
-
Yes she really enjoyed it. I think initially they said no more than 16.💃
-
There were around 12 in dd2s class and then there were more later on. They did say they have auditioned previously.
-
Good luck to anyone else auditioning today🍾🍾
-
My dds are too young for their full time but are interested in the associates so will be going Sunday.
-
They are holding auditions for the associates and workshops this Sunday in Birmingham. There may still be spaces for the workshops. You can find out more details on their website/Facebook page. They are holding a q and a session too.

Would she have been boarding in YDA (home stay) or would she have travelled back and forth? YDA could have been a good option if you live near enough. It sounds like your Dd will be getting good training anyway. Plenty go at 16 and there are more options.

i actually meant to ask, is there somewhere near to Tring that parents can wait and access the internet? I am there all day this Saturday while DD does masterclass and i was hoping there'd by a Pret nearby for coffee and wifi!?
There is a Costa, another trendy cafe restaurant- sorry cannot remember the name and a Prezzo. All have free WiFi and are in walking distance

Kings International Ballet Academy are launching this year. They train in Russian but also will have RAD classes. They will be based in Leicestershire. There is also London Russian Ballet school which offers a vocational route. The issue with both could be funding but it would be closer than Perm. I believe both may have a couple of scholarships.

Hi there
Can anyone give any insight to the central preps audition please. What sort of things are the dancers asked to do, are they in big groups, etc etc.
Interested to hear others experiences and where Parents went whilst waiting ?
Thank you
The pret cafe is not that big. It is a short walk to Covent Garden-10-15 minutes. There is also a Weatherspoon pub about 5 mins walk from Central- head towards Farringdon.

Good luck to all auditioning

Here are 2 film clips which are great. The first one blends modern and hip hop:
The second one is Center Stage
Both of these films show how versatile ballet can be.

Many good hip hop and street dancers will have also studied ballet. Try a couple of classes and see how you feel. Don’t worry about being mocked. It is your life and your passion. True friends would support this.

My best wishes to all those who have received their results. My DD and two other friends who took their exam a while back have just discovered that the examining board have ‘lost’ their results!!
This has also happened to us. Dd1 knows she has passed but RAD have lost the results.

Just heard. We got a no too. Oh well never mind.
-
Was this for year 7? We have not heard either way.
-
I suspect it may be very small numbers for yr7. I am hoping but would imagine it is a longshot.
-
Has anyone who applied heard yet?

Do not want to take thread off track so will not say anymore about nursing/hps.💃
-
Our good students do. Sadly some choose nursing thinking it is an easy option and do not realise the work involved. Some think it will all be practical and do not appreciate they need to know the theory behind the practice. (Non committed students usually fail.)
Dance courses at degree/diploma level should be similar. I still use lots of the anatomy and physiology I learnt on my dance course when teaching health professionals. Knowing how the body/muscles/tendons and ligaments work can make you a more knowledgeable dancer and teach you how to avoid/manage injury (or health professional).

One of my daughter's studied childrens nursing at uni, the other did a level 6 diploma in dance and the amount of theory differed greatly. One filled numerous shelves with files, the other barely filled one folder.
Be interesting to know which was which. Some of our nursing students would unfortunately be the latter😂

My dds had no issues learning Cecchetti and RAD. Cecchetti has more arm positions, arabesques and numbering of corners are different but my daughters and their friends picked it up. Each month they will have a different teacher. It is a good scheme.

Yes. It is a hard decision to leave an esteemed programme but I believe they will benefit more from Kiba as it is 6 hours and includes contemporary and jazz.
I am glad to hear your lovely Dd is on the mend xx
