Congratulations to all who got places! Can I ask, of those who had successful applications, did you have your photos done professionally in the dance studio?

I did the photos myself in my lounge.  Just to say I have never danced so the photos were approved by my 13 year old DD so I have no idea whether they are correct or not!!

She go wait list for Summer last year and the year before and Spring this year.  But got a yes for Spring last year.

She is a year 9 MA and started with associates in year 6 which was her first ever attempt of auditioning.  I think it really is just what they are looking for at that moment.

Good Luck everyone.  We are completely led by her and as long as she is happy and and the no's are not detrimental to her self esteem we are happy to continue.

  2. We got a yes for our DD.

Also confused about dates but checked application and have applied for 3&4.  So guessing that is what she got

She will be thrilled always had wait list for Summer.  She did Spring last year and got waitlist this year.  Who knows their thinking.

Good luck to everyone waiting xx

Surely there's going to be an element of preference expressed by the parent.  If they have a very long distance to travel, other children, pre-existing extracurricular activities etc, surely some people will *want* a slightly lower time commitment?

When my DD was offered a year 6 place at Birmingham they offered 24 sessions.   I requested 24 or 32 when applying, when we received the result I emailed RBS and said that if there were spaces on the 32 class we were happy to take it, and they moved her across straight away as there was a space.

I don't think its comes down to talent or travel etc, I think it probably just how the administrators allocate it.

    Good Luck to everyone.

After a long road of nos and SWLs for associates had a call yesterday to say place has come up from the waiting list for DD London y9 MAs in September.

Anyone who has followed our story will know this is the fourth time she auditioned for associates! DO NOT GIVE UP.

This is fantastic news well done x

A place for my dd too, week 4 WL! Gobsmacked as she’s going to the spring intensive so didn’t expect both, even though I put the summer school as my preference.

Now to decide how to tackle the topic of doubles fees with her dad 🤔

Congratulations to the yeses, my dd went in year 5 and had the best week of her life bless her xxxxx

Well done that is amazing xxx

    Hi Everyone,

My DD has just been offered a Mids place in Manchester, which we are accepting. So there are still some movements to be had for those still on short waiting lists.

    Congratulations!!! Amazing news xx

That's what I was thinking! Seems like an awful lot of kids to audition for I imagine only a handful of spaces....

So there are 2 groups - JA1 and JA2? I guess each year some stay in JA1, some move up to JA2 and some move on/leave, freeing up the spaces?

The problem with going along 'for the experience' is that dd now involuntarily has her heart set on it ... Hopefully it'll ease off over the next few weeks!

From what I understand yr4/5 is a mixed class then yr 6 have their own class.  In Birmingham there are two JA classes, one 24 and one 32 sessions.  So actually there is a better chance to get a yr 6 space because there are more spaces available.  But then from 30 yr6 JA they go to 6 yr7 mids!!! So fingers crossed you never know, my dd joined in Yr6, she made WL finals and has now been offered a mids place xx

DD on SWL for Birmingham so crossed fingers here - probably all the way until October - and more than likely for nothing but it gives hope!

Good luck and fingers crossed!! Not sure how many spaces there are, but I know of 4 girls that have got MA places starting Y7 in September xx

12.45 I believe. But I'm not sure if that's the start of Jazz or ballet (if indeed they do both at yr 7 level).  Lots of my dd's friends did both at JA level but the time between the classes seemed to be a lot more manageable! She loved Elmhurst so had asked but not sure if it's even manageable. Xx

Dd was offered both at year 6 but as it was her first year of associates we didn't know what to expect so decided just to do RBS and turn the Elmhurst offer down.  I suppose at year 7 it would be manageable just, but I don't like the idea of no proper break, adding to that the first year of senior school, I think we will just count our blessings and just do RBS xx

Congratulations tired dance mummy. My dd has also been offered an MA place in Birmingham so they'll be in the same class xxx She's thrilled, especially after the no from finals knocked her a little.  My dd has been a JA there since yr 5 so perhaps we know each other Xx

Best of luck to all those waiting to hear xxxxx

Well done to your Dd,  I have sent you a private message xxx

Mine was. She's also a non JA, and we're waiting for London results.

    Just trying to fathom RBS!

My DD got finals but wasn't in the callback and is a JA.  She only started as a JA in year 6, so amazed she has managed to do so well.

Not sure that helps with trying to fathom things out.
