  1. EmilyR - at time of writing, your post has apparently had 247 views .... I'm guessing that means that 247 people have been sitting there turning their head from side to side to see if they can hear a creaking sound!! (Or perhaps I'm the only one 🙄).

Sorry - I have nothing helpful to add - the mental image of so many people across the UK turning their heads at the same time was just amusing!

No member should give details of another member’s children such as their name or their dance school, unless the parent has already done so publicly here

Is the AD a member of this forum? Perhaps the Forum rules should be "No member should give details of *any* child ...." - just to make it clear?

  3. I think it's important for children to know the statistics when they go for WL/Elmhurst etc auditions. It really helps if they understand the bigger picture. A 'no' doesn't mean "you're rubbish." It means nothing more than "we saw hundreds of dancers your age, and we chose 12 that scored maybe only half a mark more than you".

Yes but if you only tick Mids (and don't get that rare call to Finals even not having done so) you don't get your result for Mids until after WL Finals. So for example, DD2 auditioned on 20th Jan (London 1) and has not had a result and won't get one until March. Others may be in the same boat.

Even if you tick both boxes, the only results coming out right now are for fulltime vocational (WL) finals. The results for MA/SA aren't until end of March, at earliest.

  5. I imagine your family's successful experiences of state education have more to do with the teachers who inspired you and your attitude to learning than they have with the fact your parents weren't paying extra for your education. If the teachers who inspire your son happen to be in a fee-paying school, then don't let the state vs private debate put you off ......

    Hi glissade,

RBS actually ask in the audition preparatory guidelines, that whilst new shoes are not necessary, clean ones are.

Hi Motomum - Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't read the audition guidelines. Good job they obviously looked past them when they gave my daughter a final audition then 🙂
