Also know of one dd who has been told she has to wait until York scholarships have been handed out to find out if she has one from London audition.

Still waiting also , hopefully it won't be too long after they have seen everybody in York .  Good luck to those also still waiting

  2. My DD went two years ago when she was ten, she really enjoyed it , she came straight from having just spent a week at WL summer school so was a little homesick at the beginning Mostly as they are in rooms on their own which she wasn't used to . She soon settled though and spent the first night sharing a bed with her friend from JA. The staff were all lovely , she loved the lessons and the food particularly the breakfasts . She made lots of friends and the whole experience really brought her on . It was also a good indication for me of how she would cope if she went away to vocational school the folllowing year . This year she is hoping to go for two weeks . Hope this helps .

  3. My DD was a JA for three years and her class was very varied in height , shape and proportions , however they did all have that special something . Now she is at vocational school and whilst they are definately more similar in physique they're still most definately not clones. With some huge height differents. I used to worry about my daughter being particularly small and not having the desired sway back leg line but it appears that the things I was worried about are definately not a must have necessity , I think artistry seems to be considered heavily too .My DD absolutely loved her time as a JA and we both made some life long friends along the way too.Best of luck to all you DC xx

  4. Just wanted to wish all the dance mums and Dc good luck in your up and coming auditions. I went through it last year with my DD and was a nervous wreck. fast forward a year and both her and her JA friends seem very happy with their respective outcomes. There were a mix of children accepting places at various vocational schools to Mid associate places. With another choosing a more musical theatre route. There was also a lot of movement on reserve lists so it's not necessarily the end of the rd if the first letter isn't a straight yes, particularly with MA places.Despite missing my daughter terribly she really does seem very happy , always busy and full of interesting snippets of her day to tell me . I definately feel I made the right decision letting her go. I look forward to reading your journeys and look forward to meeting some of you next September ! Best of luck xxx

  5. The letter said within a week , so fingers crossed anyone on reserve will hear very soon Balletmum20 , holding out hope for my DD's good friend from JA who is on reserve , I believe two were accepted into year 7 last year from the reserves so anything is possible ????

  6. Thanks so much to all the mums on this forum for sharing each other's journeys . For anyone who received a no this time keep going , the story of Tierney heap is a great inspiration. She got a no to white lodge , did three years at Elmhurst, went back to normal school and centre pointe to train for a further two years ,got a yes to upper school and is now a soloist aged 22 with the Royal ballet company . I'm delighted with the yes for my own dd for year 7 today , any other mums with children going in year 7 please get in touch xxxx

  7. Long day Amos73 my daughter loved it , regardless now of the outcome she will always have that day to remember . She made some lovely friends too , knowing how small the dance world is , I think no matter where they all go to school I think their paths will cross again many times . Best of luck mums and dancers xxx

  8. Hi my primaballerina, my daughter has Instagram and uploads a few dance photos along with the other rubbish a ten year old

Might put on, I do monitor what she is doing on it. It has been a great way to keep on touch with other JA's from around the

Country and she follows lots of interesting dance accounts. She was over the moon to get a follow back from her favourite ballerina too. Hope that helped xx
