Nutcracker casting upload now complete.
Again Cuthbertson at cinema relay?
Boring

It's weird that first cast (Osipova, Watson, Soares, Arestis, Saunders,Nunez and Bonelli) has only 3 scheduled shows and the second cast of Cuthbertson&company has 4 shows.

Hello I started a little campaign for DVD release of Giselle with Nunez and Muntagirov.
If you want to participate please retweet.

It's *always* Acosta who sells the shows And there really *are* too many Manons.
Hang on, I've just realised that Soares' name is nowhere to be seen. Is he injured?
I don't think he's injured.
He was at Festival Ballet in Tivoli in the past days and he danced with Marianela "In the Night" of Jerome Robbins.

So happy for Manon cast!!
Cinema relay with Nunez/Bonelli is FANTASTIC!!!

Cinema screenings have somehow already been announced.
For ballet, as has already been announced, it includes Alice in December, Swan Lake will be in March.
I'm quite happy to also see a return of Manon and La Fille Mal Gardee, in October and May respectively.
I'm impatient to know Principal casts for the cinema screenings!

Watched "Sleeping Beauty" yesterday at cinema.
Really disappointed about Lilac Fairy. Ignoring the Solo that was not elegant, safe and precise I found Laura McCulloch no reassuring and warm as fairy. Bulky as presence.
Steven McRae is a real prince. I loved his performance. He has a wonderful technique and a prince charming. His jumps, his lines, his technical skill are a joy for the eyes.
Sarah Lamb is really nice as Aurora in the first and third act. But I didn't like her in the second act. Not so convincing and lyric. She was wimpy, dull, without any kind of pathos.
Lovely Yuhui Choe and Valentino Zucchetti as Princess Florine and Blue Bird.
Waiting for see Nela and Thiago performance. Can't wait!!

Hi.
Who knows the entire cast of the live screening on the next 19th march?
-
Manon, Onegin, Don Quixote, Sylvia, La Fille mal Gardée and for me also a new Swan Lake will be interesting!
-
If you still are not aware, I want to announce that DVD of Royal Ballet's Don Quixote with Nunez and Acosta will be on sale from April 2014.

I have problem on the website! It seems like the website is down.
I can't connect with two different browsers!
It's really annoying!

I posted on the other thread about how much I enjoyed this performance. However, for me personally Natalia Osipova is Kitri. Marianela Nunez was indeed joyful but I did not think that she had the same "fire" as Osipova ( does anyone?).
I am sure this production has been a great success for the RB and I hope to attend a live performance next time, as this is one of my favourite ballets.
I don't understand why the people say Osipova is Kitri.I find that Osipova is exaggerated and her way of interpreting Kitri is for me vulgar!!Not to mention the movements technically inaccurate and without elegance.Yes, when Osipova dances Kitri is always on fire...but we have to consider other aspects also, including what i wrote above.Marianela has proven to interpret Kitri perfectly. Her movements are always accurate. Her head, her arms and legs are surreal for perfection and precision! She does not miss a detail. She knows when to smile, when to seduce, when be naughty or sweet.Everything is perfect. And above all, I'm glad her dance and her art, admired around the world Wednesday evening, will be an inspiration for many people and young boys and girls.- 2

The Winter's Tale is also in Period 3 but, as it's a completely new ballet, it's unlikely we'll get the casting until it's in rehearsal (if then!)
Yes we have to wait a while before the cast of Winter's Tale will be confirmed.I'm really curious! -
Hello,
this morning I received an email by OpusArte.
They answered me that Don Quixote of The Royal Ballet will be released on DVD in April 2014.

Not sure if that's a statement or a question, eliamato, but the dance awards part of the ceremony as broadcast on Sunday only showed a brief glimpse of Marienela shyly thanking everyone for her award - I almost missed her because she was nearly unrecognisable with elaborably styled and darkened hair! There was also mention of Christopher Wheeldon as the recipient of a choreographic award, but there wasn't even enough time to read the subtitled information on what the award was. A shame they couldn't spare more time on both Marienela's and Christopher's awards.
Yes it was a question.
Sorry....My fault to pose question.
And thanks for your answer.
Yes I've seen on streaming from Italy the ceremony. I noticed just a flash of Marianela speech.
It's a pity that they didn't give due importance to dance.

There is a video online when Marianela Nunez receives the award?

What a beautiful news! what a beautiful moment for Marianela Nunez!
She deserves it!! She's a great artist!
One of the most refined artists in the world!
So happy for her!

I haven't seen the show, but I have Mayerling DVD at home and I think Mara is the Italian art par excellence.Mara is the daughter of Italian art of acting. She is a great dancer and a refined actress. She plays every roles so naturally and true and that makes her a star.

The press release say: " Her first performances will be as Juliet in Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo&Juliet, partnered by Carlos Acosta."
So she'll not dance Kitri...
-
Hello,
I read on Roberta Marquez instagram (under a photo posted by her) that she are going to dance La Bayadère also the 2nd of May.
I suppose she'll also replace Sarah Lamb?
The text of her answer says "Pre general 4th April performances 12th April, 2nd and 6th May"
-
Thanks Lynette.
Fingers crossed for Marianela Nunez and for Aeternum!
