Same happened to me! I went into boots after half term to replace dds before she went back and couldn't find any either! Luckily managed a pack in tescos! But won't last for long!

I'm not sure I understood the deposit to be as refundable as that, i believed it would be lost.

I would go to all the auditions, you never know what they are looking for or may see in your child. I didn't believe my child fitted the criteria regarding physique but she was given a place this year. I guess it depends on how much your ds wants it too. Good luck!

Thanks harwel. Even if child 2 got an Mds as well I don't think we could manage the fees.

How would it work with one child on an MDS already if another wanted to go and was offered a place, would there be any reduction?

Which schools are you considering?

Rbs and elmhurst if you get a place you are entitled to mds. Others require a funding audition.

My dd did hers at the audition. They are nothing to worry about.

I think the academic tests are referred to after any decisions are made and are not used to make the actual decision. We never found out the results of the academic tests so I wouldn't know if that affected the decision. Feel free to ask away, there's so many helpful people on here!

Good luck lema, I followed you story last year and possibly the year before, I'm sure things will work out for you. I know everyone says that and it's hard to believe at the time. I can vouch for it though, thankfully things worked out for my dd in the end - for now anyway!

i think they just want to see a flavour, as to speak of what the child can do, the ballet and modern class/ flexibility will be taken into account just as much. Don't get too hung up on the solo. Good luck!

We cut dd down to 1 min, they won't allow more. Better to be safe than stopped half way . ????

I've never noticed that from any of the schools we tried for but yes wise to read the what to wear and bring carefully.

Ours were thin or classic strap size as were most but if your dd is happy and confident in it that's what matters.

Dd had to wear Rbs leotard for her Rb audition as was Ma but for the others she chose which she felt most comfortable in, they were plain non fussy. There were many different colours we saw at first and finals .

Well done to your dd! Has your dd been offered ️these places as a result of summer school, is that why you are now trying to decide? Does distance make any difference to you, the opportunity of an MDS at one of the schools, things to perhaps consider?

Thank you, She's only done one year but has meant the world to her and we never expected to be so lucky to get there. The teacher is great, enjoy every minute- I think there may be a few tears as our last week is coming up.
