Apologies for the confusion in my last post (#83) in response to Alison (#82). I misunderstood the question. The cast I gave was for the previous cinema broadcast in 2013. I'll pay better attention in future

Can anyone tell me the name of the bespectacled suitor this afternoon? He was superb!
His name is Vyacheslav Lopatin. He's a first soloist. http://www.bolshoi.ru/en/persons/ballet/1092/

"If we want to still have dance coverage in our major newspapers,we have to click on those links. Even if we don't read the article because we don't have time!!! Keep on clicking."
I agree Tours-en-l'air. I click on most of these links - except for those behind a pay-wall - and then share them to Pocket for reading later. Pocket is a great app for mobile devices and it also has an add-on for desktop browsers so you can save and read from any device (I have no connection with the company that produces this app; I'm just a happy user :-))

I saw the gala last night in the the cinema. An enjoyable evening but spoiled somewhat by the camera work. It will be interesting to see it from a backstage point of view.

Reading all the posts in this thread made me decide to buy tickets to Swan Lake in Belfast in November. So I'll be driving to see Celine Gittens & Tyrone Singleton on Sat 7th. Looking forward to it.

One of the Irish cinema chains is showing the Paris Opera Ballet's Balanchine/Millepied/Robbins evening live from Paris on 1st October so it clashes with the World Ballet Day livestream.
Cinema details: http://moviesatdundrum.admit-one.eu/index.php?s=M-DUNDRUM&p=details&eventCode=20163
Performance Details: https://www.operadeparis.fr/en/season-15-16/ballet/balanchine-millepied-robbins

It's also being shown in European cinemas (1 Oct.) and in US cinemas in January 2016.

I missed it, but Deborah Bull interviewed Sylvie on BBC Radio (I think) last Friday as part of their Edinburgh International Festival Conversations series. Their webpage says it will be on iPlayer shortly:

Vladimir Urin has announced that Sergei Filin's contract will not be renewed when it expires in March 2016. The decision is linked to internal affairs in the theatre. There is a proposal that he continue to collaborate with the theatre in another way but does not specify what that might be.

Try this link: http://culturebox.francetvinfo.fr/live/danse/danse-classique/les-adieux-daurelie-dupont-a-lopera-garnier-218695
You can watch the live performance and the backstage action simultaneously (or each one individually).

Due to technical hitch - this will be streamed tomorrow instead (Fri. 19th). Same time, this link:

The Bolshoi will be in London from 25 July - 13 August 2016 at the ROH.
http://www.bolshoi.ru/r/_content/cc9f1467ac9e145158d16c326b2e512e/240%20season.pdf
They'll be performing Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, Flames of Paris & The Taming of the Shrew.
Looks like a very expensive summer (with New York City Ballet in Paris earlier in the month).

A little bit more information on this here:

After seeing this on Wednesday, and enjoying Parts I and III, my next thoughts were how they would revive it. Does it necessarily need an older female lead to convince? And would it be as good without Ms Ferri?
Can't imagine this without Ferri...

Does anyone know the running time of Ivan the Terrible, please? I was thinking it would be a 3 pm start, but it appears to be 4 pm, and there's a concert I'd like to go to in the evening if I can.
About 2 hours and 20 mins., according to Bolshoi website http://www.bolshoi.ru/en/performances/576/

Agree wholeheartedly. This irritates me so much but I think it was much more prevalent in this screening. I also thought that in the wider views of the stage it felt as if the camera was in a hole looking up at the stage rather than on the same level. Aargh!!
