  1. Thank you balletmum20.... will pm you.

Karen... I am aware of that group but school will not give out any personal info about other children and locations as tried to get organised when we first started.Traffic always going to be increasing so thought I needed to look at other options..

  2. I have DD in Year 8 and wondered if anyone else will be getting train home to London on exeat weekends?  Not sure senior students have exeat but thought worth a try

thanks. just dont want her to travel on train alone. and soooo fed up of the 4 hour drive up and then straight back.

  3. Don't suppose anyone has older child that travels on train back to London at exeat weekends??

Would be nice if someone else travelling as DD in Year 8 and we not happy for her to do journey alone yet.

  4. then there is whole school open morning beginning of Oct, I went in Year 7 and took her out for the afternoon, but live far away so couldnt really justify the journey this year and luckily one of the other nearer mums took her out.

i had concerns about academic side as my daughter was not academic in the slightest at primary school. I am so pleased with how hard she is working at the Hammond. something has clicked, maybe the fact they all do homework together helps also.

  5. My DD is currently Year 8 so Boogalou just to reassure you they are a friendly bunch they all get along and friendship groups seem to change fairly regularly. think next year they will be back to 3 or 4 in a room and at Hampton Lodge ( whereas at the moment it is two in a room)  that is what i have heard, not set in stone.

can't remember the other questions ask away if anything else you want to know.

  6. Yes my daughter enjoyed it too. Great few days, excellent teachers and plenty of helpers with advice and time to talk.

there was a flyer on the desk advertising her summer course, with another great selection of guest teachers.

rushed out without picking it up, did anyone else get the dates??

  7. my understanding is that the MDs is for that school, you might get a place elsewhere but without the MDS. thought if u leave the school, the MDS goes back to the school.

the school will definately know when other schools hold audition days so will notice.

if you have a valid reason for changing school (distance, family etc)

maybe chat to school and make them aware

  8. I bought DD a little rose bush when in a show and then planted them along the path in the garden. Not too expensive normally £4 ish and put it in a pretty gift bag so looks as good as the flower everyone else is receiving.

  9. The lady Emma Northmore who runs it also teaches at Pineapple and last year my DD did those classes also, she was fantastic and cant recommend her highly enough. As the previous comments say sometimes they do need the rest, and we shouldnt be spending every penny on summer schools. Also after a first year of boarding she doesnt really want to go and board anywhere else, so this is ideal for us.

MY DD did this last year and really enjoyed it.  I have just seen that the cost is £150 junior and £170 seniors.

West end professionals daily giving workshops in Cats, Mary Poppins and the SNow White ballet by the principal of Vienna Festival.
