  1. Thank you balletmum20.... will pm you. Karen... I am aware of that group but school will not give out any personal info about other children and locations as tried to get organised when we first started.Traffic always going to be increasing so thought I needed to look at other options..
  2. Guess its still the M6 for me then!!! Thanks for the info
  3. I have DD in Year 8 and wondered if anyone else will be getting train home to London on exeat weekends? Not sure senior students have exeat but thought worth a try thanks. just dont want her to travel on train alone. and soooo fed up of the 4 hour drive up and then straight back.
  4. Don't suppose anyone has older child that travels on train back to London at exeat weekends?? Would be nice if someone else travelling as DD in Year 8 and we not happy for her to do journey alone yet.
  5. balletmom20..... just to let you know Hammond are not happy about Year 7/8 auditioning elsewhere, there was email about it this year.
  6. then there is whole school open morning beginning of Oct, I went in Year 7 and took her out for the afternoon, but live far away so couldnt really justify the journey this year and luckily one of the other nearer mums took her out. i had concerns about academic side as my daughter was not academic in the slightest at primary school. I am so pleased with how hard she is working at the Hammond. something has clicked, maybe the fact they all do homework together helps also.
  7. My DD is currently Year 8 so Boogalou just to reassure you they are a friendly bunch they all get along and friendship groups seem to change fairly regularly. think next year they will be back to 3 or 4 in a room and at Hampton Lodge ( whereas at the moment it is two in a room) that is what i have heard, not set in stone. can't remember the other questions ask away if anything else you want to know.
  8. Yes my daughter enjoyed it too. Great few days, excellent teachers and plenty of helpers with advice and time to talk. there was a flyer on the desk advertising her summer course, with another great selection of guest teachers. rushed out without picking it up, did anyone else get the dates??
  9. A friend of mine DD used magnet therapy bands around the knee which helped. She was 11.
  10. Emma does manage to make it the right level for all. I would give her a call or email and ask her to call you. she is helpful and all the kids she teaches seem to love her as she makes it fun.
  11. my understanding is that the MDs is for that school, you might get a place elsewhere but without the MDS. thought if u leave the school, the MDS goes back to the school. the school will definately know when other schools hold audition days so will notice. if you have a valid reason for changing school (distance, family etc) maybe chat to school and make them aware
  12. believe it is week of the 25th july and it is going to be at Pineapple Studios this time. My daughter really enjoyed last year.
  13. Was looking at the course in April and see there is discount until January. Does anyone have experience of some of the teachers?? http://www.surreyballetmasters.co.uk/ballet-boost/ Thanks
  14. Emma Northmore is fabulous, the kids love her. She also teaches the open classes at Pineapple and Danceworks. If you have any questions just email her. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
  15. Have some NYB logo stuff age 9-11 ish rugby shirt, fleece and tShirt. Happy to give away just dont want to put in the charity shop where nobody knows what NYB means.
  16. DD grown out of 26/28 track suit bottom also have a 30 top but the zip of the zipper is missing. Seems a waste to throw them away. Could leave them at school next exeat weekend.
  17. Same thing happened to me took about 2 weeks for delivery then stuff was missing and had to chase them asking for delivery date. wont use them again.
  18. Have a few Tshirts and fleece jacket with NYB logo... about 11-13yrs Message me if interested.
  19. One Banana, one egg, one cup of rolled oats, blitz with little hand blender and fry in coconut oil for a filling pancake.
  20. I bought DD a little rose bush when in a show and then planted them along the path in the garden. Not too expensive normally £4 ish and put it in a pretty gift bag so looks as good as the flower everyone else is receiving.
  21. Find this Lisa Howell book always recommended for info... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Perfect-Pointe-Book-Need-Dancer/dp/1452857407/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1424863612&sr=1-1&keywords=lisa+howell
  22. The lady Emma Northmore who runs it also teaches at Pineapple and last year my DD did those classes also, she was fantastic and cant recommend her highly enough. As the previous comments say sometimes they do need the rest, and we shouldnt be spending every penny on summer schools. Also after a first year of boarding she doesnt really want to go and board anywhere else, so this is ideal for us. MY DD did this last year and really enjoyed it. I have just seen that the cost is £150 junior and £170 seniors. West end professionals daily giving workshops in Cats, Mary Poppins and the SNow White ballet by the principal of Vienna Festival. Think I have got info right. Here is the flyer
