Hi Aurora I am sorry to hear about your,e dd I hope she has found somewhere nice.And as a parent of a child who does dance or gym ,I wish they would think of the child more. Thank you I phoned most of them and they may have advanced 1 but they are all just beginners and was told my dd will have to take it with them ,and may spend another 2 years doing it. Does anyone not do private classes

Sorry 2dancersmum yes I think your,e idea is good ,I no my dd can do the advanced 1 next year in london,but she is ready now to take the exam and by September of next year will be more fed up . I phoned the rad and was told my dd can only do the exam if the teacher at the rad on the intense says she is ready.And that is only if she does not attend another school. I like your,e idea to try another syllabus as the more hours my dd has at this level would be good. I did phone a istd teacher she was lovely, but was told it has a different style and this would confuse my dd at this level as she may pick up bad technique. I told her my dd is an advanced child and should and can pick up different styles as I feel this will be good for her but was told she doe,s not like girls going to rad classes as two teachers do not mix especially rad teachers. Hi the reason I left the other school was tha same reason ,she was in a beginners class and the teacher was going to put her in an exam 2015 when the other girls are ready. Also doing 2 schools in my area is called poaching ,as I was told by 2 teachers yesterday. If you do not tell them and they find out ,each school get,s together and then that makes it difficult to move on. Anyway on a positive note my dd is going to look at a school on sat ,fingers crossed

Hi legseleven my dd said the same thing to me today I have worked so hard for my advanced 1 ,through no fault of her own why should I lose out. The only reason we like exams is for the training ,when there is an exam coming the classes double the work gets harder ,then there is a stretching class. There are no non syllabus classes where I live as they hardly have time for one class. If I could find a school that does intense classes in rad and another style.aswell as stretching maybe contempory ,tap .modern under one roof ,that would be good.

Hi thank you everyone.yesterday I phoned the school and was told because I left the other school ,and was not happy,it made the other school very mad, as she is very good friends with the other school it would be best if my dd did not attend.

Hi everyone had a chat with both teachers about my dd and it did not go well . So we are on the look out for a new school. We used to live down south and moved up to Newcastle near the airport a couple of years ago. Can anyone help.

Thank you everyone.To LinMM you have been great and thank you for all your,e kind words Aurora thank you yes she did go to the associates in Newark and loved it but we only went for six months as my dds school fees doubled over night ,then my car got stolen.Peter and Shannon were fantastic and even offered to pay our petrol, I was in tears but with no car. Anyway they told me my dd would make a fantastic strong dancer and how proud they are of her. And yes maybe she just need that little more but how can you tell. Also linMm I am thinking of Russian or maybe cechetti with rad

Hi I did think about that and phoned her in the holidays to ask if my dd could return to her lovely class.But was told it was too late ,and I made my bed so I will have to lie in it

Hi linMM my dd has been at this school for a year.And two more before.My dd had a lovely teacher but at the time did one advanced 1 class ,so I asked could my dd go to other classes somewhere else for extra lessons.This worked for about 4 months and my dd was very happy,untill her teacher told me she did not want her to go anymore, as another child going to a different school reflects on her.We left and went to the other school, but six months later that school stopped doing advanced 1 and told us she could do advanced foundations class instead.She tried it but found it not challenging after being in advanced1 for a year .I explained this to the teacher but as we had come from another school her loyalties are with the other girls.And this brings me to this school and my story begins.

Thank you both legseleven and LinMM it happens all the time at this lady,s class she goes on about her face and told me before the end of term ,that my dd will not be taking this exam untill she smiles this could be next week or untill she is twenty it is up to her.My dd got really upset and started to cry, and was told to get over herself as life goes The other teacher said my dd looks so unhappy she is putting the other girls off there dancing ,and making her and the girls uncomfortable.When she is in the changing rooms they all whisper and ignore her.The teacher even ask,s the other pupils what they think of other people dancing in the class my dd hates this ,but the other girls seem to take great pleasure in this.I am afraid if I move her to another school after leaving this one my dd will be persecuted by the next rad school and become depressed.My family do not understand and we have no support network

Hi Julie w the thought of my dd spending another two years in that class will drive her mad.But I no she will have to do the advanced 1 exam. so maybe if I suggest she does both classes at the meeting next week.But to tell you the truth I have had enough and ready to move on ,and try yet another school

Hi Spanerandpony if my dd does advanced 2 after Christmas and stays in there for about 2 years she will be 16 maybe 17 .She is very strong that is the only thing her teachers like about her.I am also going to try for an associate school for her as I feel she would learn so much more than exams. Maybe the joy of dance

Hi legseleven thank you for your,e kind words.My dd after two years has had enough at least a date for the exam would be good.My dd has two teachers and for the past year has worked well and was very happy .she even gave her a date for next march.untill my dd joined the other teachers class ,like ribbons said her loyalties are with the other girls.She told me my dd could not be in this years summer show ,untill she smiles and she cannot ever think of taking an exam with that face as all the other girls are happy more like afraid.I texted her other teacher to tell her my dd has had a terrible summer and she replyed I love your,e dd but it is not up to me .my dd wants me to have one last chat with them and ask can she have a private lesson also go somewhere else and to avoid the grumpy lady,s class.I think my dd has been put down by the other teacher ,like a form of bullying and often looks unhappy.My dd said she is not bothered about the exam she just want to develope as a dancer and move on but most rad teachers will not allow this without an exam. Do you no if My dd can move onto advanced two and miss advanced 1 ,but maybe take that exam in later life.my only concerns with that would be if I changed schools and they want to see her exam mark then they will make her repeat advanced 1.Hi pups-mum I would love to meet you and your,e dd in London next week for the classes but I have broke my foot and the thought of going on the tube with crutches is frightening.Have a lovely time and let me no how it went

Hi everyone my dds teacher text me to say she can not teach my dd next week as the other teacher says the studio is full next week.The funny thing is the school is closed till the 8th of sep.I have not told my dd yet as she gave up 2 summer schools and the intense lessons in London.I think they are trying to tell me something.They are very cruel when they are dealing with children very cruel indeed

My dds friend does the cat scheme,and loves it,she is in advanced 1 and when she goes there she is put on a intermediate foundation level/ intermediate.But I no she learn,s so many other things a local class doe's not offer.Do you no what there ballet academy is like there on a Saturday

Thank you Spanerandpony I agree that's is why if she does decide to go to an associate class I will have no intention of telling her teacher.my child my business.Also do you no of any associates that do advanced level the senior ballet in London looks good.
