My dd has the same problem at her local ballet school. Sometimes she is really upset and I constantly have to

remind her that she is going to that school to learn ballet. But she is 11 and crazy about dancing, and it matters

to her to be liked by her peers. Thinking about if changing schools will be better for her. She likes her teachers

but she expects a lot from them and often they don't deliver.

Hi dd is applying for the first time at Elmhurst. I hate to put her

through auditions but she is determined. I will keep you posted how

it goes. Nice to know their class/studio is very nice. They are probably

choosing from photographs those who will audition. This is ever so stressful

don't know how other mothers cope.

Got results today by letter. Very happy dd moved to next group 4 (she will be eleven).

The assessment went well though dd thought it was like an exam! As pirouettes are not here best, she thought she was

in the danger zone! But very proud of our achievement!

Sorry don't live in Ireland, but hardly heard of BTUK. Are they based in London and

will they be coming to South east sometime this year. We really want to see

I am taking an 11 year old and I will explain her the story myself. She will be more interested in watching the steps

and to attend a ballet at ROH is such a treat we could not miss it.

Thank your for your replies. Taxi 4ballet your answer was great.  Dd has been in London Children Ballet production

before and she is very happy to try EYB. She is 11 next month.

Could any members comment on EYB performances. My dd has been accepted for the Oxford production of Swan Lake. First time and we are very excited about but have no idea about how much work is involved.
