  1. Be positive. The exam is over a week away and hopefully her cough and cold will be better then.

While she's resting can she watch the Advance 1 DVD or something so she can go through the exercises in her head?

Why not phone up for a Physio appt today so she might be able to be seen this side of the weekend then she has a few more days to take their advice?

I hope she gets better and does well in her exam. Good luck.

  2. I too was wondering if anyone from RBS, ENBS, Rambert or Elmhurst has got got through, but then again haven't heard if they entered in the first place.

Anyone know of anyone from those schools who entered and has got through to the next round?

  3. From Central School of Ballet FB page this afternoon:

'Congratulations to 4 of our third year students who are through to the second round of BBC's Young Dancer competition! They are busy rehearsing for their live performances in front of the judges in December.'

(I wasn't impresesed with Hyde Park Winter Wonderland as had just been to Vienna and seen some of the markets there and then this London one was a big disappointment)

  5. I like to get on a bus at Oxford street, sit on the top deck on the right hand side of the bus and then enjoy the lights and then get off at Marble Arch. Best time is when it gets dark at about 4pm onwards.

Walk along outside Selfridges and look at their windows.

Go and look at Fortnum and Mason's window display.

Trafalgar Square to see the Christmas tree.

  6. When DS was applying and needed references from his school, we gave the school a stamped addressed envelope to be used by them to send the reference directly to the ballet school and we put a covering letter in with the application form/photos etc. It all worked out and at least I got those applications into the post all at the same time.

  7. Why not ring the school and ask them what they think should/needs be done first and get them to help you.

Good luck to your daughter and to you.

Christmas is only a few weeks away and you'll have her back then. :)

  8. If I remember correctly from three years ago for Central and DS was 16, we had to get a form from a post office, get it stamped and signed at Central and send it off with payment or bank details.

The address we used was his address in London. DS did get free bus travel. We had to reapply each September for a new card.
