Did anyone see this gala on Sunday? I was there & enjoyed it. My only disappointment was that my favourite dancer, Farouk Ruzimatov did not appear

Did anyone see the Summer Concert from Vienna on BBC four last Friday? As it was a rainy afternoon[again] I watched it on iplayer. It is really worth watching & I think it is available for the next couple of days. There was a delightful ballet to Debussey's La Mer. The dancers were dancing in the lake! Fabulous. Also lovely views of the Schonbrunn Palace & gardens.

I am really pleased that Dawid Trzensimiech has been promoted. I have been following his progress for the last couple of years. Thought he made a very good debut in Le Sylphide.

I have just come back from Austria & there were several Cuckoo's calling. Have also heard them at Pulborough Brooks in West Sussex, but did not see one!

The other thing for us pensioners (and maybe students and others?) to remember about the Coliseum is that for almost all performances you will be able to get a concessionary standby at a substantially reduced price.
That is true, John, but living in West Sussex makes it difficult to get a standby ticket.......

I was so upset when I found out that the tickets had been reduced to £10 as I paid £67 only last week........However, I emailed the box office & changed my ticket for the Sleeping Beauty in JANUARY...It cost £ 3.00 for the exchange. I then booked my £10 ticket online. I am very happy now
I have been caught out like this before & it does put you off booking early. I did think that ENB prices were very steep & they don't give discounts for pensioners, but I was desperate to see the programme.

Hello Susan, welcome to the forum. :-))
Thank you, John.
I used to post sometimes on the old forum so I'm not really new!

Wow, I can't believe how little interest in this topic there is on this forum (apart from people tut-tutting about anonymous letters). No-one seems to have gone to see the Beyond Ballets Russes programme either. I conclude from this that, with a few exceptions, most of the members are only interested in the RB. If this letter had been written about the RB I'm sure that there would have been dozens if not hundreds of responses. Is this site actually for RB supporters and I hadn't realised it? If there is a site for ENB supporters perhaps someone will point me in the right direction.
Hello Aileen, I am very interested in ENB. I don't post very often as I am a bit shy. I have a ticket for the Saturday matinee & looking forward to it. However, I find ENB prices are way too expensive [if you want a decent view]. I can get a very good seat in the stalls circle at Covent Garden for half the price I paid for the Coli. Also, I am very sad that Wayne has been sacked.

I am heartbroken! I was so looking forward to watching his progress. All the best for the future, Sergei. Don't give up dancing, you have such a great talent.

Oh, Meunier, I agree with everything you say. Loved all the dances, particularly Work in Progress. What wonderful choreography. Eat your heart out Wayne McGregor! I've always liked Mikhail Lobukhin ever since I saw him in Prodigal Son. It was a pleasure to see him again.
I also thought it was a delighful end to the evening when Andris placed a bouquet in front of a photo of his father & all the dancers bowed to Maris. Very touching.
Would love to see more programmes like this.
