  1. I hadn’t seen this posted anywhere and it’s TONIGHT Livestream from La Scala of Nureyev’s SWAN LAKE Wednesday 27 September 2023 at 19.45 CET Two prices for different quality €11.90/9.90 Two special dancers in the lead roles … rising superstars in my opinion: - Maria Celeste Losa and Navrin Turnbull You do need to create an account beforehand … https://lascala.tv/en/show/94e62f3f-ab0a-4f88-b22c-30795401177e/ ‘see’ you there 👍
  2. Absolutely sensational cast for Nureyev http://www.bolshoi.ru/en/performances/1025/roles/#all Looks like the most ambitious ballet since Petipa's Sleeping Beauty.
  3. Travel from London with BalletcoForum member and former ballet dancer Kevin Flanagan and see the majestic Mariinsky Ballet perform in St Petersburg this October. The trip, leaving from London's Heathrow Airport, includes a backstage tour of the famous Mariinsky theatre where Petipa choreographed and Tchaikovsky composed as well as a peformance by the world-famous company. It offers a unique chance to see the same ballet company that gave us Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty, as well as the dancers Nureyev and Baryshnikov, Pavlova and Nijinsky. The 5-day accompanied visit to Russia’s cultural capital includes a ballet performance in Catherine the Great’s private theatre in the historic Hermitage Museum. Kevin, who appeared in the world premiere of Nureyev's Romeo & Juliet with London Festival Ballet at the London Coliseum in 1977, and the Kirov as a gentleman actor, when they appeared in Dublin, will lead his second tour to the Mariinsky in St Peterburg. For more details, pics and videos of Kevin's previous visit to the Mariinsky go to: https://www.traveldepartment.ie/holiday-types/ballet-holidays/
  4. It has been announced to day that Ralph Fiennes will direct a new movie about a part of Nureyev's life. No star is announced yet, but I wonder...if it is a ballet movie, I wonder if an existing ballet star would make a great move into acting. I would personally love to see Sergei Polunin in the younger years (brash and arrogant) or Roberto Bolle (charming and reflective) in his prime. Any thoughts, ideas or wishes? source: http://www.screendaily.com/news/ralph-fiennes-to-direct-rudolf-nureyev-drama/5089637.article?blocktitle=LATEST-FILM-NEWS&contentID=40562
