The whole reason why I became a friend of the ROH is to get early booking- I was sick of not being able to get seats on general booking day as there were massive queues on the website. I always go for the £35-£50 seats, and those always sell out the quickest. I just hope that the casting appears near the beginning of the priority booking window, otherwise a bunch of the seats will go if I wait too long!

I just heard back from them and I got the same response. I am so disappointed- this means that there is a possibility I will not get a chance to see my favourite dancers. Surely the ROH knows that many people come to see certain dancers, so it’s odd that they would get rid of that feature.

I emailed the friends email address and got a conformation email saying that I should hear a reply within a few days!

I just saw in fine print in the Friends newsletter: ballet casting before booking closes. Does that mean that the cast will only appear on the evening of the show, as I book specific performances to see my favourite dancers. I am gutted if this is the case!

I think that its not a bad season, but not a great one either. I would have loved a Tchaikovsky ballet, perhaps The Sleeping Beauty as its such a classic. I really hoped that Giselle, Coppelia or La Fille Mal Gardee would have come back, seeing as it has been at least a few years for some of them. I'm not a huge fan of Alice in wonderland as there is not as much dancing. Onegin should be interesting as I have never seen it before, and I would love to see Marianela Nuñez in it. I saw Cinderella on opening night last season, which I quite enjoyed but do feel like it is too soon to have it back, seeing as It was only a year ago. I also don't know how I feel about no Nutcracker but Cinderella instead- it's not a very festive ballet.

I thoroughly enjoyed the opening night of Swan Lake; Marianela And Vadim were amazing and outdid themselves! I did have a bit of a laugh though in the last act, as I could see Marianela’s shadow waving to people in the wings and standing there before she was lit up as Odette’s ghost !!
