    Hi all,

we got the result and she is on the reserve list.

does anyone have any experience of this? And the likelihood of it leading to the offer of a place? 😀

We know someone who was on reserve and got offered a place so be positive! There’s always places open up too as not everyone offered places can accept. Well done!

  2. Just to reiterate what others are saying, we auditioned last year and got nos across the board. We joined open classes (which by the way have been LOVED) and tried again - been offered a place on CAT and IFA. Reserve places will come up as the timetable clashes so people can't accept both. Highly recommend open classes as a good route though, game-changer!

I had a call with manager as she had offered a phone call to explain stuff in the offer letter. It was really useful and informative and I got a good feel for it I think 🤞🤞. Think we have decided to go for it and give it a try 😬😬😊. and she said associate results work be out in next couple of weeks

Oh that’s interesting - can you share the highlights of what you learned? I’m away at moment you see

Congratulations to those awarded places on the CAT - remember that this is akin to getting a place at vocational school, so a huge achievement.

Because it is vocational training, keeping up with classes at local schools might be difficult, especially as they progress through the scheme, but if the end goal is to become a ballet dancer then it is a fantastic opportunity. And as they get older it can be difficult to get enough training locally at the level they need, so CAT can be a good way to get that without having to go away to boarding school.

But it is a big commitment of time, so each family has to consider whether it is the right thing for them. Good luck.

Thanks for this! We’ve been spiralling a bit because it completely clashes with current dance school but this is an excellent perspective

  5. We had our final CAT audition yesterday too - two hour class! Absolutely great feedback about the environment and the teacher and found it a really enjoyable experience: was very excited to have just been asked back and sees it as an achievement in itself which is great. Does anyone know how long the cat classes actually last (is it three hours)

  6. Hi hive mind - my tiny dancer has been invited to a final audition for the Northern Ballet (Leeds) CAT programme.

We really liked the idea of the associates programme and were absolutely stunned to have received a callback for CAT (in a positive way)

I’ve read up on the website but I wondered if anyone has any experience of this final round they can share and experience of the programme overall?

I’m not sure what to expect as I’ve heard mixed information - including that if you dance with CAT you have to leave your current dance school?

Can anyone out there settle the nerves of some very inexperienced first timers?

Has anyone yet heard back on associates ?
