My daughter is nearing the end of her first year as a junior with Ballet Boost and simply loves it. She wont miss a class for anything so that should tell you something about the strength of the recommendation. In a year she’s not gone once due to severe illness and she was in tears at that. Teaching, creativity, care and as already mentioned the quality of the pianists are all excellent.

Thanks so much. I’ve been told 9 for grade 2 but can’t find anything written down about it and find it strange that it would be if grade 1 is minimum age 6. 

I know this is an old thread but wondering if anybody knows if there is formally a minimum age for ISTD grade 2 modern theatre dance? I can’t access their website as it seems not to have had a certificate installed and therefore is classed as insecure by my server and it won’t let me in! 
 

Also, does anybody have insight as to how long you’d expect to take between grade 1 and grade 2?

Advice sought! I wondered if anybody could tell me anything about Xcite dance competitions.  My DD goes to what I would refer to as a traditional dance school & we have no experience or knowledge of the competition world expect for what we’ve seen on Dance Moms!  She’s been offered the opportunity to participate and I am trying to make an informed decision re whether this will be a fun and positive experience for her.  

The RAD repertoire days are brilliant (held at their HQ in Battersea), there should be another one coming up in December (they are usually once a term).

Hi. Your clothes are a bit too big for my daughter but I wondered if you might assist with a few questions:

- I’ve heard there is a BBA second hand uniform facebook page, do you happen to know the details?

- Which bits of the ‘extras’ should I get for my daughter who is joining as a junior associate? Do all the girls have the jacket for example?

A slight tangent but for those of you who have done ballet boost courses, would you recommend the summer London course for a not quite 8 year old who is fairly mature? Ballet Boost have accepted her but I just wanted to check in on views as to whether it really is suitable given she’ll likely be the youngest.  Her ballet teacher recommended it but always nice to hear from those who have actually been! Thanks!
