  1. Another problem is I hardly met young adults who have similar aim with me. Most people(non professional) in my age and treated ballet seriously are usually very advanced. And most young people would turn to other dance genres after they reach intermediate level.
  2. That's also what I went through few years ago when taking class with kids aged 8~11😥. I was around 16 and I weigh over twice as much as some kids(some 8 or 9 yo are only around 20~25kg!). I was so insured in that class because I felt like I was giant. And what even worse is some schools in China would put a weighing scale in the classroom and ask the student to weigh themselves before or after class. And the kids were always 'shocked' by my weight😅
  3. I was having syllabus classes (not at RAD HQ) with an experienced teacher at pineapple last year. And after the 2 other students finished their exam(they started the class earlier), the teacher saids she can't coordinate my timetable with another new student. We were supposed to start in January but I'm still waiting her to 'coordinate'. Planing to find another RAD registered teacher in the summer holiday😅, as I'm busy preparing for the final term examinations now😂
  4. Yeah I had 2 terms of Intermediate class there. The first term I was in the junior class and they transferred me to the adult class as soon as I turned 18. I have to say the teacher in the adult class are so different from the junior class. Sometimes the students are not doing anything right but the teacher doesn't really care about that and just move to the next part.
  5. It's true! I had 2 terms of Intermediate at the RAD HQ. The first term in junior class and the second term they transferred me to the adult class as soon as I turned 18. The teacher in adult class are definitely not as strict as the junior class teacher. Sometimes the students were literally doing nothing but she still says "good job" and just move on. This might make sense if the adult students start ballet very late (like the sliver swans), but for me that's just wasting my time.
  6. I'm 18 and moved to London last year. I've been doing ballet for nearly 14 years but I never got a chance to be trained seriously before. There weren't many good teachers in my hometown and most kids quit ballet before the age of 12. So I had to train with primary school kids until I'm 17. My flexibility is fairly good as an amateur dancer, I can do over split on both sides. It might sounds ridiculous but I'm the first one to take the Intermediate Foundation exams (in 2021) in my city. I got a merit but I'm not really satisfied with the result. I'm not planning to take ballet as my career, but I still want to try something like pre vocational training before I'm too old. However it seems like all these classes have an age limit. Some accept 18 years old but that might be too advanced for me. I tried many adult classes but they are very different from classes for children and teenagers. I can't learn a new technique in details and the teachers usually don't really care what are the students actually doing (compared to children's classes).
