My daughter due to dance next Jan at festival so would be interested to hear how RB are with you? When is your DD due to be in festival?

What did everyone do with the hair ribbons? I bought two but it now looks like they are too long. Is it okay to cut one ribbon in two or would they end up too short?
Hi Pixie I cut the ribbon in half and tied it into a clip. Hoping it will stay on the clip and won't have to keep re-doing it every week!

Anyone know how you fly with a hooped pancake tutu please? I'd hate it to be damaged...

Hi Pixie, no and I can't find anything about it so I'm wondering if I dreamt it?! But I'm pretty sure someone mentioned something about one when I told them DD had been accepted.

Does anyone know anything about an October workshop for the JA's? Is this just for the older children or for all age groups? Be interested to find out more...

I've had these before in grey and lovely slim fit. They do them in navy and look like a good colour match x
Hi sarahw thanks for the tip, I've just bought Next Boys joggers and they're much better - plain navy!

No haven't got any yet, I'm thinking Zara or Abercrombie as both a slim fit so will keep my eye out.
? Humungous is the right word! They are ridiculous aren't they for the target audience! ?
Mind you, my dd gave up on them most of year 6 and wore leggings, shorts or jeans most of the time, as did a lot of the girls, so I may not even get joggers.
I would have bought them and had them tailored to size to keep the RBS logo, but without it I can't see why anyone will buy them as they remind me of MC Hammer pants ? ... or perhaps that's just showing my age!!
I bought Next BOYS plain navy joggers - much better fit!! Age 8 is perfect ?

Does anyone know why some people are offered 24 weeks and some 32?

The tracksuits come up big. The jackets are not too bad actually but the bottoms are very wide indeed!!!! My dd had the age 7-8 throughout JAs (the jacket still fits her and she's 11!). The bottoms got a little short for her, especially at the end of year 6 ? but still loads of width room!
A heads up though .... The bottoms this year are totally plain and haven't got the royal logo on as apparently they've decided against it so I've returned the bottoms and just bought the new zip up this time and am going to get some slimmer fitting plain navy bottoms that are more flattering xxx
Hi Balletmum55 did you have any luck getting some navy joggers? The RB ones have arrived and are humumgous!! I'm going to return them. I would've thought they'd be a slim fit given the girls they are accepting into JA...

Lottie77 and Littlebear, are both your DDs in JA1? We could have coffee together after the introductory talk? I will be filling in the online form tomorrow, is it long? How do I submit the passport size photos?
Hi Pixie yes my DD is in JA1 too and coffee sounds lovely. The form took me over an hour to do !! But I had problems with the photo. I took it on my iPhone then had to change the format or it wouldn't accept it. When it did it was confusing as you don't see the actual photo just a red circle with a cross in it under the box - but must be right or wouldn't let me go to next page. I've ordered uniform today too - all very exciting! X

The info for Manchester came by email on Wednesday. It was titled "Associates" not Royal Ballet School as before - just in case you miss it.
Balletmum55, luckily I don't work on Fridays so I could get her to class just fine.
Her school have been very excited about her achievement and have asked me to write a piece to go in the next newsletter and they're going to have her up in front of the whole school at the next merit assembly. Hope they still support her after I tell them about having a lot of Friday mornings off!
Our classes are all 10am - 12.15pm, Fridays and Sundays for those that are interested.
Are you talking about the receipt of acceptance email or have you received the pack in the post with the handbook, acceptance form etc? We're Eastleigh and haven't had our pack yet...

I had Bath info on Wednesday, not much help to be honest. It has given me all the dates and either 10:15-12:30 or 12:45-3 but no info on which time is for which date. just hoping we find out which one correlates to which date soon x
Oh no that's not helpful, was hoping would be same time each week!!

I haven't and really want to know the class times. Having just read about the Friday classes in Manchester I'm confused! Think we are Saturdays - hope so!! I guess we will get our pack any day now ? Very exciting...
