If you only ticked MA it doesn’t matter as I did that for my DD and she was invited to finals anyway. Not sure if it works the other way though. Good luck everyone waiting

The BRB Nutcracker Hippadrome run the children were from Birmingham Royal ballet associates or Elmhurst Young dancers and selected by Marion Tait in September. xx
The children for the Albert Hall ballet were selected from open auditions for the past 2 years and anyone who meets the height criteria can audition.
The Birmingham hippodrome ballet are indeed selected by Marion Tait from the both Elmhurst and RB JAs in Birmingham.
A very worthwile experience for any budding ballet dancer!

Anyone else doing this?
I’m a bit confused as I thought the auditions were at Urdang in London but I’ve had a message to say it’s Birmingham?
My dancer is at the top end of the max height but they said to go along anyway.
Hopefully be a good experience. xx
The audition was at Urdang last year and I understand that it is this year too. Check the info as unless its come from BRB then I would say it will still be Urdang. You go on the site and book a place and then you receive an email to confirm time/place etc. My daughter did this last year and it was an amazing experience.

This is an amazing opportunity and so lovely that they are doing it again this year.
It is unlike anything else to perform at the Royal Albert Hall. Anyone thinking about the commitment- go for it, you will not be disappointed if your child gains a place

There should be a score for each section out of 20 then an overall score. Are you sure it was a grade and not a medal test as IDTA grades are pass, merit, distinction. The medal tests are pass, commended, honours if I recall. Would have to check past exam sheets

Heard of 2 London yeses so looks like people wont have to wait much longer. Good luck everyone🤞

Well, use me as a reference. My DD is very small, about a head shorter than her classmates. 120 cm. Summer born year 3 student.
About 17 kg, alltogether.
A squad member actual gymnast.
Awating results for London...
My daughter was very small for her age and was offered SWL the first time we applied. The feedback was thst thry liked her but wanted to see if she grew. She grew a lot in the next year and joined JAs then. She was still small compared to her classmates but had long legs compared to her body. She is very light in weight but doesnt look skinny. 17kg is very light- about 2.5 stone. Good luck, hope its a yes for you DD 😃

Thanks Pas de Quatre. I should've said she is a JA.
If your Dd Is a JA then her JA teacher will give your regular teacher feedback if thats easier for you. I found my Dd JA teacher to be really helpful

I know (from here!) that dance teachers can get audition feedback from RBS but just wondered how they go about it. I want to ask DDs teacher to request feedback before the Elmhurst final but feel it's only right to give her all the information she needs to make it as hassle-free as possible. I'm wondering.........
- who to ask for
- telephone call (general number on RBS website?) or email (general queries on RBS website?)? Is there a better way to do it?
- does she need to book an appointment to receive feedback at some later date? Call up out of the blue?
A few pointers from anyone that's already done it would be appreciated. Thanks v much.
I'm notoriously bad for over-thinking things!!
Was your daughter at WL finals at the weekend? Did they not give her some verbal feedback?

Thank you. Birmingham is good for us so will look into it 🙂

I’m looking for recommendations for a physio with dance as a speciality in the north west. Does anyone have any experience? TIA

Thank you 😀

Please can you measure leg length? Thanks

Yes, an offer of a year 7 place at RBS was turned down last year and someone of the reserve list was then offered the place
-
Just checked. Boys one day, yr 7 girls over 2 days and yr 8-11 another day so 4 days in total. Good luck everyone attending 😀
-
There are 4 dates for finals this year. Do they do them by school year?
-
Do you think they may hold a couple of replies back in case some of the offers for finals are not accepted?
-
Good luck to everyone who auditioned 😀

I have never heard of a select list. My daughter was on the SWL and was offered a place 2 weeks after the initial results were sent out. Your daughter has done well to be on the SWL, it means that they would take her if there were more places.

I think maybe they held back on some no letters to see if everyone accepted the recall. That way they could have called some of the others. There were so many children at the audition that it must have been a very difficult job to choose 😯

You can watch your daughters class then leave but you will need to listen for the recalls as she may be asked to dance in the final class.
They don't allow people in or out during the classes in case it disrupts the dancers but its ok to do so in between classes. At the presentation all the dancers are given a certificate so she would miss out if you left early. It is a lovely experience for the dancers.
