  1. I have 4 Degas 9502 for sale in size 12A - in black, burgundy red (grenat), royal blue (Roy blue) and pale blue (turquoise), all matt with lining. I also have a Degas 9501 in turquoise- not lined.

They are in excellent condition as I have only ever hand washed them. My daughter has grown out of them so I need to sell them and get her the size up.

Happy to send photos on request. Price £30 each.

    Hi,

I’m looking for Degas leotards suitable for auditions so mainly styles 9501 or 9502 in a 12A, front lined. My daughter does have a 14A that we have made the straps smaller, so may consider this size too. Ideally after blues/greens/purples or pinks but may consider other colours. Many thanks: )

  3. Hello! I am really concerned about a comment my dd’s ballet teacher made recently. She told me that one of my dd’s legs is longer than the other but not to worry as it is probably due to a growth spurt d they will eventually even up. My dd is 9 years old and very serious about ballet. I worry this may stand in the way of her chances for  vocational training at the age of 11 when auditions take place. Has anyone else made similar experiences? I am having to wonder why it is that my daughter’s legs are unequal and not the legs of the other girls in her class who are also growing? She has being doing a lot of stretching over the past year so I am also wondering if she might have overdone it and some damage...

Some make very small bows with theirs and some are huge so I'd say it was personal choice as there are no instructions and various takes on the bows that I've seen! I went with medium size for the first term (so about 5/6" bow) and then we went gradually smaller as dd got older x  eventually we saw that dancique in Birmingham made pre-made blue bows on a clip in the royal blue ribbon so we changed to those and saved a good 10 minutes each Saturday trying to get it 'just so'!

All the teachers I've come across at JAs are extremely friendly and relaxed with the children and the parents so don't worry xxx

Hope all the Dc have a fabulous first class xx

    Thank you! :)

Hi Pixie, no and I can't find anything about it so I'm wondering if I dreamt it?!  But I'm pretty sure someone mentioned something about one when I told them DD had been accepted.

This is what was mentioned in the Handbook we were sent:

The school aims to invite all Associate students to attend one pre-general rehearsal at the Royal
Opera House in Covent Garden during the year. In addition, we try to invite students to attend a
workshop held at the Upper School to enhance their training. Invitation to events will be sent by
email and parents will be asked to submit a short form online along with payment.

Does anyone know anything about an October workshop for the JA's?  Is this just for the older children or for all age groups?  Be interested to find out more...

No, I don't know anything about it. How did you hear about it Littlebear? I guess we will be told about these things by the teacher?

My DC is currently in year 3 and got a JA place in London for 32 sessions. Have told her school (academic) about it and they couldn't care less. Anyone else had similar?

I have to say that I told the school and they offered to put something about her in the newsletter and a feature on the school's website but the newsletter is not particularly relevant as they tend to use an app for any school related communications so I am not sure how well read it is. I also looked up the school's website and the page where pupils' successes are shared is rather well hidden and difficult to find. But at least they did offer to do that.
