  1. Rowan, my DD auditioned without a signature. The RBS didn't have a problem with it for the first round but told us they would need a reference if she were to be called for finals. Sadly, she wasn't called but I think that even a set-against-applying teacher would gladly give reference if their pupils were called to RBS finals, don't you think?

  2. Our family is thinking of moving towards Oxford or Aylesbury but I can't seem to find good dance schools around there... apart from Tring of course... where the eldest was accepted but without funding... The younger one is trying her luck in March but I fear the funding is again going to be a problem! Our DDs are very keen dancers and both want to become dancers. At the moment, they do many hours of ballet as well as contemporary and character a week. Any idea anyone?

Thank you very much for your help...

  3. Tring ran a summer school last year for 3 days and 2 of my DDs attended. It was non boarding and on a first come first serve basis.

The level was very mixed, some girls had never done ballet, others were wonderfully good. My DDs, who danced between 13 and 15 hours a week mainly ballet and some contemporary and character, really enjoyed it. It was a 3 day course with ballet, contemporary, street dance, musical, character and repertoire... Quite a lot to fit in in 3 days!

The classes were very full as the school was quite overwhelmed by the number of students who wanted to attend. I was told there will be another course this summer but done a bit differently to avoid the problem of different levels. There is nothing on their website yet but it's supposed to come soon...

  4. Thank you Spannerandpony, if our DDs dance there, I think they would do their normal training in the Tring Academy and the TPA on top but we're still waiting to hear from RBS MA for one of them who is also auditioning for Tring Main School in March and the other one has been accepted at Tring for their Performing Founation Course but without funding... Plus we're still unsure if it's the best course for her, hence all the questions about their Academy...

  5. Does anyone know about Tring Classical Ballet Academy and also their Associate Programme?

Any information on level, classes, teachers would be interesting...

We're trying to see how good it is as 2 of my DD have already been accepted in the Academy and are going to try for the associate programme but we've never seen a class and we don't know if the level is good...

    Thank you in advance

  6. Dance ATM, I just spoke to the RBS and they told me anybody overseas will get an email. I don't know where your DD auditioned but they were in the middle of doing the London auditions... Fingers crossed!

  7. Good luck Little Ballerina! My second DD was there last week auditioning for their Performance Foundation course. it was very straightforward, the building is great and everybody is very nice there. Just enjoy it and have fun!
