  1. Hi Balletbean,

DD is very much wanting to stay on the classical ballet route, so ENBS will be on our list, but it’s going to be a very long and hard journey, trying to gather as much information on courses/pastoral care and funding.

How about your dd, is she doing auditions now?

  2. My dd attended the ENBS audition workshop in Jan, we found it very useful as she’s a yr10 vocational student so getting as much info as possible where we can, they told us the reason behind them now asking for dvd audition application is that they have more time to look at each applicant, last year they had over 500 applications.

  4. Hi SarahW as it's their 100 years celebration so this is very unusual week, my dd is also def more classical but has enjoyed this week. I can't wait to go and watch tomorrow, she also has her assessments starting on Monday she's in year 9 she seems ok about it but you can't help to worry for them. Im not sure if any more performances will happen until the end of the term year. It would be lovely if they put on a ballet as I miss watching her dance ???? I'm sure they will catch up on the academics and dance they have missed

  5. When my dd started in yr7 she had qualified a number of solos for the finals of the all England, I wrote and asked for permission for her to finish that year, which permission was given. I always email to ask for permission for dd to attend workshops or summer schools and NYB during school hols. It is hard as if they board and are on a MDS you do feel more restrictive on what you can and can't do. My dd wanted to audition last year at another school and again emailed the school as I want to be honest and upfront but had an unpleasant phone call which upset me and my dd, we did go for the audition as my dd wanted to go, but we both felt very stressed about it all at the time. balletmum20 try not worry, assessments are coming up so she is probably feeling nervous and they are working hard with Oliver as well, but contact the school and ask if you can speak to her dance teachers

  6. Hi Karen im glad it all got sorted and your dd got home safe and sound, my dd also gets the taxi to Manchester airport most exeats we use Kingkabs, I didn't know of anyone else that went to the airport, maybe they could share?

  7. Unfortunately I just spotted it after booking flights for my partner as we use the term dates link and try arrange work

around dd exeats so he gets to see her as much as possible so now trying to change them, I agree not great notice ????

  8. Unfortunately my dd is one of those lovely kids that wears her socks scrunched down and skirt folded over the waist band to make it slightly above knee length - drives me mental when I go and pick her up - hoping now she is going into yr 9 she will change - I wish they didn't have to wear knee length socks, she won't wear grey tights :( my top tip if you can buy paintent shoes another bug bare of mine she never cleaned her shoes either in yr7, so yr8 she chose a pair of paintent ones and they have been so much better, yr7 not much space, yr8 much better - they all go off shopping Saturday's into town and come back with new bits and bobs, not sure how much space she will have in yr9 at the boarding no doubt I'll be bringing stuff back home with me ????

  9. I will be emailing the school tomorrow, I have spoken to Becky at Stardust and the accounts team this afternoon - my main concern is pointe shoes, shoes come in different

Makes, models, widths etc and I wouldn't certainly don't expect Becky to stock all of them.

I have no problems with Becky she provides a fantastic service always very helpful.

peanut68 I do take offence to your comment!!! :( It it still a lot of money for families to find each term for their child to attend a vocational school even with an MDS every little helps.
