It's a yes for my DD for a RBS Summer School place! So pleased for her as it'll be great for her to get to know maybe one or two other girls that will be starting in yr 7 with her at WL in Sept, cause at the moment she doesn't know anyone!

Hi Tulte, There's also Heart & Sole in Netherfield, Notts. Not sure what brands they stock for pointe shoes as DD not wearing them yet. It's a great shop though so worth giving them a call.

Fingers crossed for her angel x

A4, with Elmhurst logo on.

Have a lovely time - it is actually quite a relaxing day (it's the wait afterwards that's agonising!!) and Elmhurst are wonderful at making everyone feel welcome. The year 7s are very excited about showing off their rooms (let's hope they're tidy!!)
The girls rooms looked lovely, & the little "Good Luck" messages they left on their beds were beautiful!

I'll be there with my DD - she's also in group 1 (for year 7)

From the Royal Ballet School website http://www.royal-ballet-school.org.uk/personnel.php?s=4 seems it would be:
Antonio Castilla
Jessica Clarke
Tania Fairbairn
Nicola Katrak
Hope Keelan
Diane van Schoor (Ballet Principal of Lower School)
David Yow
Plus Gailene Stock and Jay Jolley?
Thank you Marianne

I agree with Julie and Hfbrew, everyone reads so much into everything and basically all they are doing is splitting 31 girls into 2 groups!!!
There are Jas in both groups and when my eldest daughter was there it was alphabetical so she was in group 2!! That simple!
Poor kids have got enough stress just going to these auditions without the added pressure from mothers analysing everything and probably getting it all wrong!
I told my daughter that she is in green group and that made happy as thats her favourite colour, my son is in blue group and he's with all yr 7 boys together.
It makes no difference if you are in the 1st group in or the 2nd just go with the flow and what will be will be
Plie, No mum is putting "added pressure" on their dc, & we already know that they've got enough stress just going to the auditions. We are simply mum's (& dad's) discussing & asking each other questions about the final that is all, which is what I thought this forum was all about!

Hi tippy toes my dd also in green group. She is a ja and her birthday is in sept.good luck
Thanks balletjack, good luck to your dd too... I'm looking forward to it! :-)

There's a blue group & a green group this year.
-
My DD's also in the green group. I wonder if they are put in birthday order? as I can remember my DD's JA teacher asking them when they're birthdays were whilst discussing the preliminary auditions. Not sure if it's the same for the finals though.

Does anyone know how many will be on the audition panel? It just says in the info I received today for my DD that "Panel members will include the full ballet teaching faculty of the lower School" so just wondering how many that might be??
-
Tippytoes - bear in mind you won't hear from Elmhurst with a timetable until the last minute so don't wait too long before booking something. Have a look at past threads and you might find people talking about timings last year (but I think you'll be there all day)
Thanks JulieW... Hotel now booked!
-
Tippy_Toes, I just got a Travelodge for £19. Best book early before others do!
Good Luck for the finals (-:
Thank you J9wot242... Good luck to your DD too!
My DD's gone to bed with the biggest smile on her face!

Thanks everyone. I've managed to book a Premier Inn (at least that's one thing not to stress over now!) Just waiting for further info from Elmhurst for DD's final on the 5th. If it's another early one then I need to book another hotel
Good luck to everyone who's still waiting to hear!

Hi balletjack,
It's such a scary thought attending an interview as an adult let alone a 10yr old! My DD definitley seems more relaxed now & is really looking forward to the finals! - Good luck to your DD as well x
-
Hi angela_stapleton
Thank you so much for the above info. I'll have a look at the weekend & try to find a few on line test papers that may help. My DD is so relieved that there's no interview, as that was what she was most worried about!
Many Thanks xx

Hi all,

Thanks in advance...

Yippeee... My DD's got through to the Year 7 finals as well

No probs! It's funny the difference in the associates as my DD is starting RBS ja's next week and has to have leather full soles.
Good luck though! X
Hi, My DD's also starting RBS JA's next week. Elmhurst in the morning & RBS in the afternoon, which means taking two lots of shoes (canvas full sole for Elmhurst & leather full sole for RBS... Would be a lot easier (& cheaper) if they could wear just the one style!

I payed £50 last week. £25 for the examination & £25 for the certificate, it should have been for a 20min private apt, but we were in & out within 10mins! One word of advise is to double check what the doctor has put on the certificate before you send it to the RBS as when I went to collect my DD's a few days later the doctor had put on it that she was 'on long term medication' (which I knew she wasn't!) when I phoned to speak to the doctor about it she apologised & said it should say 'she's on NO long term medication!!!!
