  1. Hi All,

finally found my password to get back on the site.Just a bit of info about the Cecchetti summer school held at tring ,They are now accepting students aged 16-- 18 studying at intermediate level . I think this is a great idea as they want to accommodate those children who are not necessarily going into vocational schools but still love and enjoy their dancing . They have some great teachers this year too.

Anyway I just thought i would let you know and you don't have to audition for this one .

  3. Thank you all ,just got back from comp ,I have to say ursula haglie (not sure if thats the correct spelling ) set a mean but beautiful unset class ,very inspiring .

My heart goes out to ALL the students who took part, from tring ,e.n.b and KS dance ,and Bryony brind ,every one put their heart and soul into it . I always find it very humbling to see these young dancers throw them self's into the occasion . Have to say dd looked lovely in tutu and I was very proud of her .

I raise a glass of wine to all the students who take part in these things and of course their parents who ferry them to and fro for rehearsals ,cheers all

  4. Hi Just Ballet ,

Thank you so much for all your help .I went up to dd open day (which meant driving up at 5.00am yuck) I have to say I was blown away by the standard of work.

After a long day went back to dd house and she put on the tutu which fitted perfectly ,bless her the look on her face was priceless the blue colour is beautiful .I had to laugh when I got back home she sent me a text saying "jumping up and down in front of a mirror had never been so much fun lol"

So can't wait for the solo on sunday whatever happens she will look stunning .

A hundred thanks again ,your a star x

  5. I am with Anjuli-bai on the darning of pointe shoes ,when I take pupils up to london to get them fitted for their first shoes I show them how to darn them on the train, on the way home . To me, it gives better grip ,looks nice and is a bit of a right of passage for the pupils lol

  6. Hi Thanks nana lily ,

You would think that the school would provide them ,however they have just told the students to get one .

So today I have surfed the net ,phoned companies and to no avail they all say the same thing 'TWO WEEKS, NO WAY " so am about to see if' just ballet have one in dd size ,

It's enough to drive me to drink ,all this searching lol

  7. Thank you all for your suggestions ,

I have looked at the dance direct costumes and they are sweet but not up to competition standard ,Primrose the Bristol Russian tutus are spectacular but the logistics of Hiring one and getting it to fit dd is looking tricky as she is away at vocational school .

Just Dance ,thank you for the link your tutus look lovely ,so dd is going to ask her teacher if they are suitable and if they are we will be buying one off you .

I may have to ask about sizing ,but I will see what her teachers say today .

    Many thanks lovely ballet people

  9. I wish you all the best ,I am a great believer in things happen for a reason ,you will look back on this later in life and realise if you had not taken this decision it would not have opened doors to many more things . Hope that makes sense lol . life is to short to be unhappy Your dd is so brave and I wish her lots of joy xxx

  10. No lil she was offered a DaDa but in the end decided to go to Ks Dance ltd ,partly because she could do her teaching qualifications along side the classical course.

  11. DD had a fantastic time at the summer school ,she loved the pas de deux . Watching all the children perform at the choreographic comp was an absolute joy,The ideas they came out with were amazing and just to see the love of dance on there faces was brilliant .

There seemed to be a real sense of camaraderie with all the children, every one clapped and cheered after each solo or group piece .

I really enjoyed watching the vocational students perform the spanish routine and the dance of the mirlitons .

Hope every one who attended had a lot of fun

  12. lol me too ,i shall wear a red flower in my hair when i do pick up on friday ,please come say hello .i hope everyone is having a lovely time, although i must admit with dd going off to vocational school in september not having her about this week because of summer school gives me a taste of what it will be like without her and i must admit i am slightly teary sob

  13. Hi Tuite,

    I agree with Lula-belle,

see if your daughters teacher would supervise ,when my dd did a audition work shop with ENB they said audition photos were important ,don't do them in your living room and get a teacher to get your child into position . I am sure her teacher would be more than happy to help . good luck
