  1. Nope not a thing we are waiting on Birmingham results..DD went for a year 9 place so we are not holding much hope...but even though we know the chances are slim..you still can't help having a glimmer of hope and waiting for the results is pure torture...i bet it will be next week before we hear...im sure last year it was the very last day of March we got our No letter

  2. well a friend of a friend knows a girl not from my DD's dance school who has received a letter for finals even though on the form only ticked the mid- associate box.

not for full time training..she asked question of me whether this would mean if she doesn't get offered a full time place would it automatically mean she is offered a mid- asssociate place...i advised i had no idea but would ask the question to my experienced friends.. this then through up the question of those children who

only ticked the mid associate box..is it actually worth auditioning for this only ??... do they select 40+ as you say for the finals and choose the mid associates from the ones that are not offered a full time place ??...or do they actually look at the children who have ticked the associate box only ??

    any thoughts ??

  3. back from Wolverhampton and DD is buzzing..she absolutely loved her first day and is a Marinsky dancer ..she can't wait to go back tomorrow..and no complaints so far of aching feet...she took my advice and took her pointe shoes off during breaks to give her feet a rest...how did everyone else get on ??

  4. HI yes id say it was about 7/8 lbs which is really noticeable on her...plus she is now so toned there doesnt look like there is an ounce of fat on her...i felt like i was justifying her weight loss to people constantly ..the only people who seem to understand were dance moms as their daughters are exactly the same.

  5. hi, i have exactly the same issue with my daughter..she is now 12 but alot slimmer than she was 12 months ago..she has lost an awful lot of weight...to the extent of people asking me if she is ok..or doing too much...to be honest its only been the past 12 months that she has stepped up the amount of classes she takes and her new teacher works her 3 times as hard as the previous one so she was bound to have lost a certain amount of weight...like you're daughter she is fit and healthy as had no time off school due to illness etc...her diet could be better..but her teacher has spoken to her about the importance of diet, protein etc and she seems to have taken this on board..she is nowhere near the puberty stage ..but then neither was i at her age and i was very thin too...not because of excercise it was just the way i was built...wish i could say the same now !!! lol...so i think she may have been quite slim anyhow...please try not to worry but if you are really concerned talk to you're GP again to put you're mind at rest.

  6. Hi all, DD has been casted on pointe as a little mirinsky ??..anyone know what this is ?? what type of dance ?? ?? what type of costume ?? does anyone know whether this will be the only dance she does or will she have a second one ?? thanks in adance guys

  7. Hi all, would be interested in opinions please, my DD is 12 years old and in her first year at senior school..where she is very happy and doing very well...and says she would not like to leave and is more than happy to try and get into a 6th form dance academy when she is older..she is such a home girl and the thought of her boarding somwhere at a vocational school fills her with dread....do you think this will effect her chances of becoming a professional dancer later in life...she lives and breathes ballet..attends alot of classes..EYB , RAD associates etc...she also continues with her modern and tap for variety.....but im concerned i may be giving her false hope by saying ..not going to vocational ballet school wont effect you're chances...what does everyone think ?
